Everton vs Carlisle

Comments (216)

Everton v Carlisle line-ups:

Everton: Howard, Hibbert, Heitinga, Neill, Baines, Pienaar, Neville, Cahill, Fellaini, Bilyaletdinov, Vaughan.

Subs: Nash, Coleman, Duffy, Forshaw, Agard, Baxter, Mustafi.

Carlisle: Collin, Keogh, Livesey, Harte, Horwood, Hurst, Clayton, Kavanagh, Taiwo, Robson, Pericard.

Subs: Pidgeley, Bridge-Wilkinson, Murphy, Anyinsah, Dobie, Burns, Kane.

Referee: Jon Moss (W Yorkshire)

Nothing if not predictable. Vaughan from the start and a very young bench.

That side picks itself really.

Our bench is horrific! Arguably, only Coleman would get into Carlisle’s side!

Team as expected, but I'm disappointed to not see Coleman get a start. We are at home and I think an attack-minded right back would have been far more suited than Hibbert.

I remain disappointed to see Cahill starting. With Pienaar, Felli and Neville, surely there as license to see Baxter or Agard play. Cahill has been out of form all season, what does he need to do to get dropped?

Typical Moyes selection, I expect us to win 3-0, but I only expect the subs to be used once it's 2-0 and 70-80 mins on the clock.

Let's all pray for a James Vaughan goal and him to finish the game healthier than he started it for once.

I’m glad the strongest possible team has been put out, seeing a team that has left one or two players out really gives the other team an extra boost at any level. I hate the 3rd round!

Fran, sort of disagree with you about Cahill. Yes, he’s been out of form, but a home tie against weaker opposition has to be seen as a chance to get him into some kind of form again.

I stand by what I say! "If" we lose this, Moyes should be sacked. Terrible league campaign thus far, hammerings in Europe against the only decent opposition we’ve met, and an exit from the domestic cup at the first hurdle - combined with the fact this is completely his own team. I’m not looking for a reaction as such, I’m just stating what I think - a loss here would cause major discontent.

I think we’ll go on to win it 3-1 though.

The psychology instructor had just finished a lecture on mental health and had proceeded to give an oral quiz to the class.

Speaking specifically about manic depression, the instructor asked, "How would you diagnose a patient who walks back and forth screaming at the top of his lungs one minute, then sits in a chair weeping uncontrollably the next?"

A young man in the rear of the room raised his hand and said, "An Everton Fan?"

Joseph, I was at Goodison for the first time in twenty-one years last spring and I got a ’66 shirt for half price at the about-to-be-closed mega store. The night before I came back someone gave me an ’86 replica shirt , telling me that he’d never seen us lose in it. I watched the Cup Final at Abruzzo on Commercial Drive and couldn’t decide which shirt to wear. I chose the ’86, obviously a mistake.

60% possession and 4 attempts on target, not sure they were particularly threatening though.

Sounds a bit like the Burnley game, if we keep hold of the ball and keep pressing, then all we need is for on of them to get sent off and we’re sorted.

Jamie, Bily is not a winger - never played there for any club or Russia. He is a central midfielder who can play in the hole as a second striker. I have no idea why Moyes is trying to turn him into a winger??
