Arsenal vs Everton

Everton Line up as follows:
Everton: Howard, Neville, Baines, Heitinga, Neill, Osman, Fellaini, Cahill, Pienaar, Donovan, Saha.
Subs: Nash, Bilyaltedinov, Vaughan, Coleman, Duffy, Baxter, Mustafi
Debut for Donavan
Neville dropping rightback and Saha returning to replace Vaughan. Also BIlly dropped to the bench with Osman coming in.
I expect to see Coleman, Bilyaltedinov and Vaughan play some part in the 2nd Half.

Is it just me that thinks thats not a bad line up?At least it looks like were going to have a decent go at them..Fingers crossed..1-0 with Donavan getting the goal...COYB
Was expecting a good game... not so sure now seeing the line up... this would’ve been the sort of match to get Bily up to scratch.
No doubt Donovan will play off so Saha so that leaves cahill in centre midfield... how often do we see this formation fail... especially if Osman's plays the right wing.
Expecting the worst now...

At the time of writing only our game v Gooners and Brum v Utd are scheduled to go ahead. We'll still be last game on.
A positive line up. Looking forward to this.
Great link

I’d love to see Donovan score but not too optimistic about this one.
3-2 to Everton.
A good line up, I wouldnt have put cahill in but maybe he can up his game.
COYB
Not sure on the shape, whether Osman will play central mid, Donavon wide Right??
Come on the blues
Missed a sitter Louis but we’re looking ok so far
Saha should have scored then...wasted. Sunderland all over again
Good ball by Peinaar ,Saha shot over the bar
Donovan on the right, Ossie in the center
I think ye are being a bit harsh on Saha lads
get in there, we have battered them all game so far!!
Fucking Get in.... COME ON
Get in Ossie. Playing well so far.
Holy shit! Osman header and a beauty.

These Arsenal players don’t fancy this. Too cold for them.

Seems to me Neville’s influence on pitch is making a big difference to us
Is it me or are we keeping it on the deck? It’s nice to watch thusfar!
Heitinga has looked very comfortable since coming in a CB. Him and Jags will be a great partnership
come on Evertoin keep it up. Pressing well. We did this last season then second half yak gave ball away to nasri and he buried it. Learn from last time blues!
lots of links here to:

is there anyway of getting the page to update on auto without having to keep pressing f5?
Fuckin jammy twats. Terrible header out of defence
god damn it, another deflection goal. Why do we have no luck after playing so well?
Crap Cahill should have had that header. He’s gotta go to that ball.
ammy bastards....hope heads don’t drop as happens so often
Lucky goal for them, disappointing.

How many soddin deflections are gonna cause goals against us this season?. There’s been loads
How many goals are going to deflect past Howard this season? Is he just crap at reacting to them, are our defenders responsible or are we just unlucky?
Just carry on the way we are playing - Arsenal know they have a game on here - just continue playing, please
We’re much the better team so far. No reason to think we still can’t go on and win this.
It seems my fears about the formation did no transpire..
Everybody on the pitch being played in their most effective positions - so good work Davey..
A good debut so far from Donovan on the right...and Osman playing reasonably well in the middle..although still displaying his trademark of losing the ball needlessly..Can’t fault him for the OG though..
Arsebal stepped up a couple of gears after our goal playing some lovely stuff at times...
We’ll do well to hang on to the draw..
Are all the feeds terrible or is it just this shotty internet im using?
Garry - you can’t blame Howard for that goal.
I agree Tom. Can’t wait to see Jags and Hetinga together.
Playing well, gotta keep harrying them and not let them have any time on the ball, we were unlucky with the goal, but weve got a real chance here.
COYBS!
Joey, my Iraqi one is...well I won’t tell you as I’ll put the k.o.d. on it
Are all the feeds terrible or is it just this shotty internet im using?
sopcast 69850 running well on my 2 year old laptop
Jamie - I was asking a question. We might just be unlucky, but we seem to be conceding an awful lot of deflected goals lately.
Definately unlucky Gerry. Please blues, lets not do the rabbit in the headlights routine.
COYB
Joey - http://www.veetle.com/viewChannel.php?cid=4b446194795f0 is great.
We are the unluckiest team in the league with injuries and deflections. This game is there for the taking...
Garry,
I do agree this season, but at some time soon the ball will hit feet and bounce out every time
Nothing you can do about a deflection Garry. Just unlucky.
thanks I’ll try it... you know my web is bad if I send things twice ay?
I’m not so sure. Personally I think we allow too many shots from just outside the box. This one might have been unavoidable but others have been disappointing.
Garry - If Cahill steps up remotely aggressively and obtains the header / clearance from Donovan instead of letting someone step in front of him who wants the ball more....
that deflection doesn’t happen.
Cahill lost intensity - he should have had that ball.
Maybe Moyes has ordered them to stop giving stupid fouls away just outside the area
Cahil is fighting like a rabied wallaby...coyb
Fuckin waste by Baines again!!!!
Anyone think we’ll be on MoTD last tonight? ;)
Perhaps we need Vaughan to defend better up front with his manic running ? And maybe score ?
Donovan looks very useful
anyone got a link that works, iraq is doing my nut!!!
Depends on whether the Manure match is off!
There are 3 Iraqi chaneels - I’ve had to switch a few times, but working good
’running the clock down’ - radio merseyside
o oh.
Arsenal are finding it very hard to get past Fellaini
Forgot about that one. Either way, it’s gonna be an early night.
We have no legs upfront.
This game should be over with us 2 nil up. This could come back and bite us.
half time....
Reaonable display againsty a very talented team...
We need more control in the centre of the park...ossies doing ok but to be honest thats not good enough for such an important position..However as there’s no options he’ll just have to keep ploughing on...
As for Cahill - he’d get the umbrella around the nect from me....he’s doing a lot of running but there’s very little impact from it...Personally i’d put Billy on in that supporting role and see what he can do...because I think that’s where his destiny lies whenever Cahill finally gets the chop..
We need to go for it...because Arsenal lok dangerous and capable of walking it into the net at any stage..
Donovan seemed squirrely in the first 15 minutes... think he’s played very well after the nerves wore off. Great corner. Open field play he’s done very well. Looks good to me, certainly not our of his realm or class.
Played well, been the better side. I just hope that we come out in the 2nd half playing the same way, and not sit deep to settle for the draw.
Great first half. Pressed well. Great goal from Ossie. Felli and Hetinga playing well again. Unlucky goal. Just wish Baines could maybe miss the first man out every now and again. Really starting to piss me off.
Possession 45-55pc
Shots 2-4
Corners 0-2
Can’t argue with those stats guys - good performance - unlucky not to be still ahead
PS - Like Donovans running, fast and contiuous
Well we should be winning this game. Impressed by Felli and Landon Donovn. I like Neil and Heitinga at centre half. Both have better distribution than Jagielka and Yobo.
I do worry whether we will be able to keep the same intensity about our play in the second.
Message to Baines. Beat the 1st man for a change. So frustrating.
So far, we started very well and hassled a lot. The only problem is the same we have all the time, when we score we stop the tempo and sit back a little bit. This allows the Arse to get back on top and get a lucky deflected goal.
They look dangerous and Louis may well rue the rushed shot with just the goalie to beat. Think we miss rodwell in the middle actually as we look a little lightweight. I am going for 3-1 arse im afraid as much as i would like our boys snatch a win here!!
Great performance thusfar, but of course we all know that Arsenal will take it up a gear or two in the 2nd half. We should have scored a second goal. But if we keep pressing and don’t lose our nerve, we can get something out of this game. The pressure is on them.
IF we continue playing like this, ( that’s IF!) can see a good away win coming
Brian - we’ll park the bus and play for the draw at the 70 minute mark... be prepared for the anger and bile to surface. I’ve grabbed the remote and will be fully prepared to chuck it through the TV as hard as possible.
I have a bad feeling, after playing so damn well and playing really decent football, we’re going to resort to the b.s. defensive tactics we’re so used to and digusted with....
I’d bring fresh legs in to contunue the pressing game. If we sit back we’re knackered
Moyes has never beatin a top 4 side away from home!
Is this the day??
Jamie, we will park the bus from the first whistle now, and you know what happens when we do that. We did it after one min in the cup final!!
God I hope I am wrong but have a feeling we may run out of legs!!
come on Louis just a wonder goal is all we ask, or donavon becomes the hero on his debut!
Agree with Ciarán. I do think this is our Tims best persformance in a while however would like to see what Bily could do in the middle of park, his deft touches a nea passing would aid the attack greatly, however maybe he wont press the Arsenal midfield like Cahill is doing, while not creative he is stopping Arsenals creativity too.
I dont expect any changes until 70 mins or so, we will see Vaughan for Saha and Bily for Donovan. Only injuries will force any other subs.
I stick by my origanl prediction 3-2 to the blue boys
They will step up, we will sit back. Sweet sweet beer eases the pain.
what streams are working best? Had the tvoo one for a while, but that seems to have gone down, and veetle and iraqi not brilliant
Moyes will keep it like this - pressurising play hopeful of a goal until the 75th minute and depending what the score is at the time :-
if we still are drawing he’ll put Vaughan on for Saha or Cahill to keep up the pressure
If we are behind he’ll put on Vaughan and Billy - for Saha/Cahill & Pinnear in order to gab a late goal.

The Veetle option
Stewart, this sopcast link has been fantastic, not even a blip all game
sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/69850
Yes good internet! COYB! I can see the second half!
i know i’m sounding like a stuck record but how long do we persist on letting Baines take all the deadballs.
http://www.tvoo.net/ch1.html
this is perfect
At least we will be Game of the Day on sky sports later
I have to say, for a player on a short-term loan whose unproven at this level and has only been with the club for a week, Landon Donovan has been impressive so far.
I think donovan is looking useful, good touch
I know one swallow don’t make a summer and all that but what i’ve seen of donovan today i’d like to get him full time!
New boots for donavan...lol
we need to get saha off and vaughan on.. saha is either looking lazy or injured...

Big Fella is immense today...really putting himself about
Saha has not been right for a while now - don’t know what’s up with him
agreed Ashley..Now would be good
Was that just a bad call against Arsenal?! i think it was! It’s a sign of the apocalypse! and of course Arsene Wanker was out there arguing.
do you think he (saha) may have been tapped up?
This is where the manager earns his crust. Donavan looks fucked now, and Saha doesn’t look fully fit. Vaughan on to worry them with his pace, and Bily on.
Agreed, Big Fella’s amazing... seems to win everything.
Funny moment from Moyes... after the linesman missed the corner Saha won, he demonstrated the guy was operating with his eyes closed. Great stuff.
Vaughan and Bily on for Saha and Cahill.
Donovan going to have one hell of a cold next week comming from the warmth of L.A. to this!!
Agree won’t happen unless they score but.
Moyes earn you money for F sake.
C’mon Moyes be a bit bold now and make a change. Bring on Vaughan for around 20 mins.
We seem to be losing momentum
And here he comes. Great debut for Donovan.
What the fucks going on? They’re just standing about up front.
Yup. Cahill’s looked way off the pace today. The number of misplaced passes has been shocking but worse still has been the apparent laziness in his play. He’s really not getting stuck in.
cahil and saha look shattered, make the change for fook sake, fresh legs are needed in this weather
need a change here, getting on top of us
I wonder what the chances of the game being abandoned are?
Cahill is a passenger and needs to come off quickly
Cahills struggling and he takes off Donovan. Arguably our best player.
No not Billy - Vaughan!!!
Cahill and Saha dead on their feet.
We’re starting to look tired now. Good stint by Donovon though. Would like to see Coleman and Vaughan come on in some capacity
We’re not looking too good now. Arsenal are having all the play, starting to create chances and we’re being limited to the odd counter-attack which are being broken up easily.
Thats just an invite for pressure Moyes.
Donovan was having a great game...didnt look tired to me and gets subbed...while cahill stays on...
Gerry, this entire game is losing momentum. It’s a bilzzard.
I had a blizzard this morning Pat - tasted brilliant!
That was shocking. There was about six fouls and as soon as Felli went near them he blew his whistle.
Donovan? WTF! Billy has no defensive part to his game. We’ll get slaughtered down our right.
POOR, but at least he’s doing something. As I type this, we are getting destroyed down the right. If I can see that, why cant Davey!
Coyb
baffled with that substitution, Cahill and Saha struggling and he takes off Donovan
Pete - Arsenal don’t seem too badly affected by it!
Great block by Neill, brave intercession from Pip, but this is starting to look ugly.
Fuck that. Eduardo in on Howard, studs up, no card.
if that wasn’t a yellow, then the sun must be out over london
Cleat up high challenge, late, on a keeper. Thought that was a card...
70th minute... we’ve seemed to park the bus! Told ya.
Jamie,
Arsenal have speeded up - their movement off the ball is beeter
Rabbit Headlights...SHIT Change
Get Cahill off the field. He’s doin nothing this half. Its like playin with ten men.
What’s up with Pienaar today? Usual work rate, but his passing is awful and he can’t seem to keep the ball.
I might take back the park the bus comment....
One touch too many from Cahill there.
about time he did something
I might take the Cahill comment back....
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Mike Gaynes - You’ve got the gift, my friend!
YYEEESSS!!!!!
YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pienar looks tired lazy finish.....................................
He won’t take Neville off so we won’t see Coleman.
agree Pat, its worth a try
Orgasmic....god IS fuckin great!
Superb by Cahill as well...
We’ve scored two today and twice my stream has died seconds beforehand!
Fukin Veetle I missed the goal! BUT A GOALLLLLLLLL PIENAAAAR
Ian - class comment - chucklin like anything here
My God that was / is frightening
I think my link is a bit slower than everybody else’s!
Should be 3
You’re right, Garry... and he lost the ball again right after I posted. And THEN... oh my.
And we almost got one from Vaughny!
Garry - keep knocking your feed off - you’re the 12th man!
my feed went too - any help?

It’d just been our luck if Denilson’s injury delays the match and it ends up getting abandoned. Ball’s starting to be held up when it’s played along the ground now. To our advantage, obviously.
all my links gone?!?!?! any1 got a good 1, or a crap 1!

For God’s sake Everton. Remember what happened last season and don’t let it happen again: http://www.toffeeweb.com/season/08-09/reports/Arsenal(h).asp
Come on ref. Blow your whistle.
Come on guys - play frikkin HOOFBALL........

Another soddin deflection!!!!!!
Saw it coming from a mile.
Another fuckin deflection. For fucks sake.
Shite. fuck god.
Poor from neville.
shite shite and thrice shite!
shite shite and thrice shite!
Knew it was too good to be fucking true. Fucking spawny Arsenal. Two deflected goals.
Like to hear what Tony Marsh and his ilk make of this.
If we lose this there is NO JUSTICE.
If you don’t take your chances you deserve to lose.
Poor from the lot of em. All we had to do was keep the fuckin ball.
Neil is absolute gash. hes got to go. doesnt know where the goal is to defend it. waste of wages. cant wait to get pj back
That’s gotta be all. 2-2 will do, I guess. Bloody shame though.
Fuck - spawny bastards! Two deflected goals!
Still a great result and performance guys - breath and kick the ball with them
Neill has had a good game Viv.
What an absolutely fantastic performance - show what you can do when you simply have a go at the Sky Four!
I’m not usually one for celebrating a draw, but fair play to Moyes and Everton today for having the correct attitude.
At the end of the day, most of us would have taken a draw if offered - we played well, got undone by two deflections, though have to say that move for the 2nd equaliser was brilliant, and much better than the show on the opening day. No reason why we can’t beat City, and the only way is up
This has got to be seen as a good point, surely. Let’s face it, we knew they would fluke their way out of it
Gutted but have to take the positives out of it - Pienaar’s finish, some of our defending and only conceding unlucky deflected goals.
Some of you will say "Moyes out" and all the usual rubbish, but I say well done boys.
Lee - I agree 100%. We played really well today.
The future is looking up. Strong second half of the season on the horizon.
Gutted. ARGGGHHH. But well played blues.
Good result and a good game overall from the boys - probably a fair result as well...we played well at times and they stepped up when they needed to..
Take osman and cahill out that starting line up and replace them with Arteta and Billy and we’ll be laughing..
Things definitely looking up..

Im pleased but truly gutted at the same time. I know we just sat back and let them come at us but our luck from shots around our box is awful. We deserved to win
Compared to losing 1-6 at home against a team the calibre and depth (and money) of Arsenal ... that’s a brilliant result. I’ll take it. Bodes well for the rest of the season.
Only comment I’d make is I wish he’d play Coleman more.
Good to be this disappointed with a 2-2 draw at the Arse. What a goal by Peanuts! Gutted, but content if you know what I mean.
Once we were in the lead, the team orders are to sit back as deep as possible, try not to touch the ball and pray. Didn’t work this time Davey. Or any other for that matter. Boo

Well done blue boys! deserved to win that. Bring on the the second half of the season!
FFS lads, I’m normally on a downer about everything, but come on. We have gone to Arsenal today, the countries leading scorers, and been the better side for most of the game, 2 defelected goals, you can’t do nothing about them. The big plus for me today, we were positive and went for it.
Quite pleased and totally gutted at the same time.
On an upward curve though, why can’t we just start playing well at the start of the season?!
Ciaran - no doubt that Arteta is better than Osman, but I thought Ossie played well today - in his natural position, he is a big component of us playing better football on the ground. I’d have the Yak in there instead of Cahill though
Fellainie...fuckin’ immense
Arsenal...you know you were lucky
I’ve gotta say thats some of the best football i’ve seen the toffee’s play for YEARS!!!!.....although it still feels like a defeat, those boys were fantastic today!!
COYB!!!
I think Moyes earnt his money today. That was a bloody good game of football, hope we can keep it up as the season draws towards a close. Thought Donavan looked good and offers us something on the right but then I think they all played well.
Ciaran, and Jagielka for Neill I’d say.
Grand match. Felli was MOM in my opinion. His work rate was at a level I thought we’d never see from him. Good show lads. Looking forward to Jags return but I fear he’ll be far from useful until next season. Good show from Donovan considering it was his first. All ’round....proud today.
Brilliant game of football; every player out there today for the Blues can hold his head up. We took the game to the Arsenal, for long periods of the game looked the better footballing side... ’better footballing side than Arsenal’ I never thought I’d write that.
The plus points; bags of possession, looked effective and slick going forward, closed everything down when not in possession, looked like real contenders for a top six spot. I like the look of Donovan, despite him being half ready re fitness
The minus points - loss of concentration at times at the back and no fucking luck re deflections - well, you can’t legislate for that
And, our injury list is diminishing quickly giving Moyes a nice headache re selection.
If, and it is a big ’if’, we play like that from now till the end of the season we’ll sour a few very big reputations... not least in Europe
Fantastic Everton - it’s days like this which make it all worth it.
FFS, what is it with some people? Osman played well today and, er, scored a goal, which I think is significant. And Cahill not only made the second but almost set up another in the second half - looks back to something like what we expect from him. Would the critics still have the knives out if we’d held on or if Vaughany had finished for 3-1 with a few minutes to go?
This XI played well against one of the genuine title challengers, who have been sensational at home this season. Give them some fucking credit for once.
I blame Tony Hibbert....
