I got quite emotional when I saw Mikky’s name as a sub! Feel so good to have him back, and so pleased for him.

If we see him get on the field today the reception he’ll get will probably send me into tears. We’ll be 2-0 up by then anyway so happy days all round.

Here’s an analogy. Everton are a guy on a date. Birmingham are the thug who can’t get a date so decide to glass the guy on a date to stop him having a date as well. They wiull never amount to anything with laughably bad big time charlies like McFadden, Ferguson who enjoy being big fish in small ponds because they can’t hack it with good teams. Once McLeish gets to spend $50m sending them into debt they won’t be around for long a la Portsmouth. Watch this space.

To be honest I think we should sell Pienaar now. He is a bit of a Jamie Redknapp. Injured a lot, small and gets lot of attention for all the long range shots that ALMOST go in but invariably hit the cross bar of skim past the post. Remember Juninho at Boro ? Skilled but completely ineffective. As for Donovan I told you all that he was crap before he came. Fellaini today seems to believe his own hype and is trying to do his best to replicate Ossie Ardilles in "Escape to Victory" but having more of a Carlton Palmer performance. Neville and Baines are making Hibbert look like good crossers. Saha and Bily don’t seem to be aware that the game is going on around them.

I think this has been mentioned already, but we’re being out-Everton’d. Packing the midfield, closing men down quickly even in areas high up the field - sound familiar? We need someone to stretch the shape of this game, and a bit of pace and invention. All too square and predictable so far. Possession-wise we’re superior, but we can’t stay patient for too long. Who would you bring on as a wild-card?

I’ve praised Fellaini the last few weeks, and rightly so, but these are the games were he needs to earn his money. The defensive side of his game has been excellent of late, as shown against Arsenal and city, he was breaking up attack after attack in them 2 games, but he now needs to show the attacking side of his game, I reckon if he ups a couple of gears then we will have a chance, a few mths ago, I never thought I would be saying that about him.

I just think we it’s funny that one week we are freaking out that Chelski or Man Utd are going to steal one of our stars lik Rodwell or Fell for $20m and the next week we see that the whole team looks like crap. It has always been the way. I remember people on Toffeeweb freaking out when Cadamarteri was being linked with Inter Milan 5 games in to his Everton career. New idea. Every time one of our players has a good game immediately sell them for a tonne of cash and evevntually we can clear our debt, buy a new stadium and get rid of BK and Moyes who like Curbishley seems to be a nearly man not a trophy winner.

Well that was a piss poor first half performance. Credit to Birmingham for preventing us from settling, but our downfall is all of our own making. Why, oh why do we always revert to hoofball? Once again we are struggling out wide. Decent crosses are non-existent. Bily, Baines, Neville, etc, why can none of them put some quality in to the box. Tempting to throw Arteta in here but surely its too early for him. Maybe a late cameo introduction. All that said, I still think there is something in this for us. Moyes needs to change the tactics and the players need to up their performance. An early goal in the 2nd half will change everything!

Me too John. I think Fellaini has done alright. Not his fault they’re a load of idiots who he has to play with. Totally clueless. If Donovan doesn’t want to play, he should tell Moyes at half time. Not fuckin hide on the pitch, and Baines. Useless all season.

You wouldn’t lose 80% of the games with the pressure we had in the second half. Today the percentages were against us. As other have said, lost the game in first half - much encouragement from the second half to carry on with next time - great to see Mikel back - and I can now reclaim a whole pile of Saturdays from my Calendar to do something less upsetting with. Onwards and upwards.

Stewart, substitutions? Osman got a goal after five minutes of coming on?

Yeah Rich, he made 3. Osman was the right one at half time, but unless Saha injured, should have been Vaughan for Cahill. And as others have alluded to, don’t think it was the right game for Arteta - especially against dirty bastards like Brum - how did they get away without a booking?

The first two substitutions were needed (assuming Saha was injured). Arteta shouldn’t really be on. I would have prefer Coleman with a little bit of pace down the right.

But once again it shows that we can’t get 3 full games on the trot out of Saha... £60k & a 2-year contract? I don’t think so.

It’s all good and well beating Man City and running Arsenal close but I think today proves why we are still a couple of quality players short in various positions and strength is depth is certainly required.

KING LOUIE have people forgot what he has done for the club UNBELIVEABLE. How good do we look when he plays. Would some people want Saha out and someone like Beckford upfront?? Let's have a vote and see what everyone thinks.

As for someone like Huntelaar... good in Holland, shite in Spain... and not doing fuck all in Italy and on £80k plus a week — sounds a gooood deal to me! When some people post logs do they realise we are not Chelski how the fuck are we going to pay wages like that?
