Deadline Day Non-Anticipation

Dunno if TW think this is a good idea, but how about a thread for rumours / anticipated signings on deadline day?
January is typically quiet, probably more so this year with belt-tightening amongst all the clubs.
I suspect we've done our business — Jo, Neill out, Donovan, Senderos in.
Mercifully there doesn't seem to be any strong links with players leaving, but given the squad is effectively the same with our dealings, who could come in?
Huntelaar is a non-starter. AC has said as much, and I suspect other teams would've gone for him if he was available.
Beckford — don't think we have the money to get him now, same as Knut the left-back who will only come in during the summer, if at all.
I'll be surprised if we do any business — but knowing Moyes, and counting the pennies as he must, if we do, it'll have to be someone who improves what we have.
It will be interesting to see what our rivals do as well, although with the topsy turvy season we've had, I'm still not sure who our rivals are!

Getting hold of him I reckon would improve Bily’s game, as well as providing no-risk cover...
So it looks like the credit crunch has finally come to football... and not before time!
Anyway Michael Senderos strengths/weakness -
Strengths - Experience.
Weakness - Pace.
"Kyle Naughton, who has failed to make an impression following a move from Sheffield United, looks set to join Middlesbrough on loan."
Did someone say KARMA??
In response to the Senderos thing:
Strengths: Unlikely to turn up sporting a gay haircut.
Weaknesses: Has the propensity to make Donkey from Shrek look like a race horse
Perhaps Matt’s assessment is fairer.
Weaknesses... Pace (lack of) This is what got him in trouble most at Arsenal.
Strengths... Not bad in that air in both boxes. Missus lives nowhere near John Terry. Fair distribution.
Apparently we’re battling Villa for Witsel’s signature. :)
Good god, I would only want to see that man play two games a season for us.... against the Shite.
Otherwise, don’t go near the thug.
THIS was not accidental.

Horrific.
Anyway, more rumours on talksport — one bloke saying 100% that Rodwell is at Carrington. I’m still taking it with a pinch of salt.
What will probably happen (if anything does) is that we will get a couple of mill, Hargreaves, then Scholes next window, Giggs after that. If we are lucky we might even end up with 2 Nevilles... Fuck!
As for Hargreaves I heard his career was finished due to the nature of his injury.
I hope this isn’t true as I’m sick of selling them our best young talent for a pittance, which is then wrtten off for their: has beens, nearly men & crocks!
Oh and before any apologists pipe up about the great deal Billyboy got for Rooney... We effectivly gave them a 12 month £10 mil’ interest free loan on that one.
Vijay — Nice one on Naughton, another money grabber ends his career before it even starts at Spurs.
Who is to say the lad would have proved better had he come to Goodison?
Maybe Spurs did us a favour?
It’d take over £20m for Rodwell at this moment in time - not a chance.
No activity at Goodison today, mark my words ^^
If United still think they could buy Rodwell despite those economical problems they suffer from, then I can’t see why we couldn’t try to buy Messi or David Villa?
Matt Brown — You can breath a sigh of relief as the English window is now closed.
Biggest shame of the window though has to be Adam Johnson going to Shitteh — we’d been linked with him a while back and I think he’d fit right in — pacy young winger with bags of potential who’d get a real chance at Everton... as opposed to be warming the gold-plated bench.
Ah well, I’m happy enough with what we’ve got in general to tell the truth.
With Arteta getting back up to speed alongside Felli in midfield, Yak and Yobo back from Afcon, Senderos to sit alongside Heitinga and offer an option from recovering Distin (who was bloody good at the start of the season) until Jags eases back in plus Donovan to provide some athleticism and competition for Pienaar and a (hopefully steadily improving) Bily we’ve got a pretty good squad again — and one that’s getting some confidence from a half-decent run (frustrating exit to Brum aside).
Howard
Neville - Yobo (Jags) - Heitinga - Baines
Donovan - Fellaini - Arteta - Pienaar
Cahill
Saha
Bench: Nash, Coleman, Senderos, Osman, Bilyaletdinov, Yakubu, Vaughan
Back-up/Youth: Ruddy, Hibbert, Gosling, Wallace, Baxter, Anichebe, Agard

Lyndon's quite partial to the excitement anticipation, nervous butterflies and half-nibbled fingernails. Que sera, sera...
Meanwhile, I still haven't finished the new Player Profile for Philippe Senderos. What would you say are his Strengths and Weaknesses?
