What was all that about?

Lost in the disappointment of Sunday?s defeat and the crazy twittering of Transfer Dead Donkey Dday was something that caught my eye last Thursday or Friday?. It was officially announced that Jack Rodwell would play against Villa on Sunday.
How very strange... as Moyesie rarely gives anything away before the mandatory 30 minutes prior to kick off comes around. Now why would he do that???
Maybe it was to let Mr Capello know that he would be playing and it was worth coming along to watch? Maybe it was to keep young Jack happy before he got his head turned by offers from the Man Utd Godfather? Maybe ?maybe ?maybe?answers on a postcard?
Then, true to form, Moyes plays a master stroke and plays him out of position with more accustomed wide players Bily and maybe Ossie on the bench Poor Jack has a bit of a ?mare ? everyone knows his only position is in a central area ? but who are you going to move to let him play there? Jags, Fellaini, or John H ...when DM decides to play our best defender rather than leave him on the bench for the whole game?
Am I imagining all of this or does anyone else have a read on this strange happening or am I bored already???

"What's that?" you may ask, well I am afraid Davey boy is being shown up for what he is. He still dithers, he just cannot make up his mind what is his best formation and as usual plays people out of position.
How many years did it take him to start Arteta in central midfield, also we still have no pace in the team.
The next Man U manager? I think not.
In the case of the Villa game, you play Jack in the middle for the sake of who? Fellaini or Arteta? The only option would be to move Arteta back on the right... and that's just wrong, isnt is Steve??
One other thing when the hell is he going to try the Jags/Johnny partnership, I can't stand Distin, that guys makes more mistakes in 10 minutes than Coleman makes in a whole game, but still plays every week!
Re Rodwell. The three top teams in the country want him and most of the time he can't get a starting place in our team. I like Moyes but I don't understand his reluctance to play him and Coleman. Two young, hungry, exiting players. We have enough experience in the rest of the team to look out for them, when or if necessary
And by the same token why would playing Rodwell in the middle necessitate moving Arteta wide right? why cant he be left out if he's not playing to form?< p>Like everyone else, I'm pissed off with Moyes playing his favourites anywhere just to get them on the park.
(1) WTF does Davey our so called Moysiah play our best young prospect out wide on the right? Young Jack is NOT a wide right player but Bily is so why not play him?
(2) Fallaini was a complete donkey and fukin useless (ask tiger Tim re takin the ball off his head for a certain headed equalizer). Why not play Jack in a defensive midfield role (his best role) where the donkey played last weekend.
I simply don't understand our beloved leaders logic at times. Surely it's as simple as;- PLAY YOUR BEST PLAYERS IN THEIR BEST POSITIONS !!!!!
It's not rocket science Davey! Get a grip for fuck sake.
With no crippling injury list and vertually a whole squad to pick from it seems to confuse him!
The problem with Rodwell is that he is in a position where the two before him are two of our better players, Fellaini and Arteta.
Drop Arteta for Rodwell?, I have heard it all now. Rodwell is not a playmaker by any long stretch of the imagination and Felliaini is at this time a better defensive midfielder than him.
Watching Jack, I still have the feeling that he has a lot to learn but it's the usual story with us fans making the players out to be superstars when the reality is much different. The word potential is still mentioned with Jack and I hope he gets to fulfill it with us, but he is not good enough at the moment to replace Fellaini and neither is Coleman good enough at right back, his position, to replace Hibbert or Neville. Definitely worth a pop on the wing but it's different actually running at defender than overlapping the winger to get a return pass.
"How many years did it take him to start Arteta in central midfield."
Mikel was a CM when he signed but at first didn't do much, Moysie put him on the wings for a while where he won player of the season twice, then when he was ready he brought him back into the middle where he is now our most important player.
"I can't stand Distin, that guys makes more mistakes in 10 minutes than Coleman makes in a whole game, but still plays every week! "
Im not Distins biggest fan but he was one of the best players on the pitch on Sunday.
"2) Fallaini was a complete donkey and fukin useless (ask tiger Tim ref takin the ball off his head for a certain headed equalizer). Why not play Jack in a defensive midfield role (his best role) where the donkey played last weekend."
Fellaini was outstanding on Sunday, fair enough he mad a mistake for the goal, but he along with Arteta were for the most part responsible for our 67% of possesion (yes 67%) against a good PL team. He consatntly won teh ball back and kept possesion well. He had every right to go for that header, he is good in the air, probably should have left it to Tim though.
As for Rodwell, I would not have played him on the right, he is clearly better in the middle, but who should play on the right, someone has to. Peoples thoughts are well known on Ossie out there, people are also split on Bily and Anichebe. Coleman? Could well be the answer, he has played in the last two games so he is starting to come through now. I don't believe he could have started at RB though, against experienced and talented playes plike Young and Downing he could have been exposed. When he came on he did go wide right through ahead of Hibbert and did well.
Why can't Rodwell play wide? He has pace, good technique, a good first touch, an eye for goal and I think he could do a better job than Bily no-show or Osman till Anichebe is fit or until maybe Donovan returns! He may be our best young talent coming through or the country's bray but he isn't good enough to be in Arteta's place, not good enough in the air, not strong enough or as good of a player as Fellaini! And especially If Heitinga and Jagielka are to play together!
FFS I dunno what you all see in him me. He'd better start producing or we're better off rid in my opinion.
Mind you in his defence, he was out of position when he was shite on Sunday.....
As for that twat Fellaini - fuck me he's a fuckin' liability him. Utter shite.
I think some people WANT there to be negatives, just so they can moan... stop reading between the bloody lines all the time.
Fellaini was exceptionally good last season before he ran into that Greek bloke, but this season so far, he has not done the business to the same level. Combine that with the fact that Rodwell was playing completely out of position, then is it any wonder that some of us are saying that Rodwell should have started in the centre as a defensive midfielder with Mikel orchestrating things in front of him.
Finally, someone else commented that maybe we want negatives so that some of us can moan. Please tell me how a return of just 1 point from a possible nine doesn't warrant some kind of negative reaction? Even this time last season after three games we had three points!
"Young Jack is NOT a wide right player but Bily is so why not play him?"
Bily is no more a wide player than Osman is a goalkeeper.
And he is still miles off the pace of the PL.
Also, wouldn't he get to pace with the PL if he played morer often?
I seem to recall that last season it was Billy and Rodwell who punished the Mancs at home with some clinical finishing. I wonder if Mr Moyes will play them this time. (and in their best/preferred positions)
In my opinion, Rodwell is not good enough to take Arteta's place; however, he is definitely good enough to take Cahill's place. And I think Rodwell and Fellaini are on the same par regarding the holding midfield position. They are both class and, seeing as Fellaini cost us 3 points on Sunday, then Jack should be given the chance to start against Utd instead of Fellani.
Jon Daley #22 ? I can't believe you are blaming Pienaar and Distin for not tracking the runs and standing like statues when that is exactly what Fellaini did. Watch the replay again and you will see Fellaini miss the ball like a donkey and then stand still whilst watching two players run past him while probably saying something in his head to himself like ''Oh, there goes two players running towards our goal... maybe i should run after them... naa, fuck it, I can't be arsed.''
Maybe my memory is going Matthew, but I was sure he was brought in to principally play on the left-hand side of the pitch, him being left-footed and all that.
But to answer your question, a) he would not get in my starting line-up at the moment, and b) when he did start he would play an advanced attacking role, possibly in the 'hole', as he definitely possesses a goal threat.
