Jinx strikes again?

So the Mail are reporting that Jack Rodwell will be out for three months with ankle ligament damage.
After the recent injury to King Louis, are we in for an all-too-familiar start of the season...
Here we go again?

Ahhh fuck..only just read that. When it comes to injuries, we must have the most rotten luck in the league. Three months? I hope it's not true...
What a shame, if true, get well soon Jack.
At least Fellaini is fit so perhaps the follwing line up versus ManU:
Howard;
Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines;
Coleman, Arteta, Fellaini, Osman, Pienaar; Cahill.
Bench: Mucha, Louis Sicknote, Hibbert, Duffy, Gueye, Anichebe, Beckford.
I hope it's not true as well; if so, get well soon Jack.
Peter,
Good team, no Johnny tho?
Howard;
Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines;
Johnny, Felli
Arteta, Pienaar, Cahill
Saha
Bench; Mucha, Gueye, Beckford, Bily, Osman, Neville, Baxter/Duffy
I like the teams above but think we should play Gueye. Last season, Donavon's pace meant the whole Man Utd team defended 10 yards deeper than normal, taking the pressure off our defence and giving the midfield space to play. Especially if G Neville is playing as he is slow as fuck ? just tell him to run past him and get the ball in; also gives a natural out-ball when under pressure.
So the speculation is a three month absence. If this is true and he has damaged ligaments I would doubt if we will see him before March 2010.
He would be fit to play probably in December, no-one will hear a damn thing and then some time in the New Year the club will anounce a "set back" in his recuperation. He will return in time to lead our charge for 9th place.
And so it goes on and on and on.... and then he will sign for the Mancs.
Without wanting to sound bitter (but I am), I don't think it was the Warnock challenge that caused the damage (just made it worse) but that fucking useless twat Carew who earlier on in the game made a blatant late tackle right on Rodwell's ankle and then stood over him shouting at him that he was feigning it ? and what did useless ref do? Yes, fuck all.It was a far worse tackle than many that get straight red but no-one seems to bother with them.
My rant though is that these fuckers, who must know that they have caught someone (whether deliberately or not ? only they will know) and then stand over the person they have just crippled and try to divert attention by making out that they are feigning injury... straight yellow for this in my opinion. At the very least, at 14 stone plus and landing on the exposed ankle, that twat must have known he had hurt Rodwell. Ungentlemanly conduct or some such thing I think.
Also, Sky/MotD and papers should make more of it ? the standing over bit I mean ? I know mistimed tackles can cause injury but the twat doing it should be apologising, not making out the injured party is a pussy!
Alan McGuffog, shut up! I am as negative as next as the next man but don't need to read that rubbish at 10:30 in the morning!
What I would say is that the Yobo loan is looking like a blinding bit of business now isn't it... NOT! If Jags or Distin get suspended or Fellaini gets injured, we are down to the bare bones in centre back / holding midfield. Also, I think the continued absence and silence on Neville is ominous as well. Yes, he is not universally popular... but his versatility is badly missed.
Re team selection, I ignored Johnny Heitinga by accident, whoops! However, I would not stick him in the middle because we need a cutting edge and Osman is more incisive and Mikky and Felli offer more in my opinion in an attacking sense. He does pick out a great long pass (not hoof!) though, so I'd have him replace Distin at the back (as height vs rooney up top is not so important as say a Carew or Samba).
Also, Johnny is not totally one-footed so the lack of a genuine left-right combo at centre-half is no big issue for me. His and Jagielka's anticipation and relative assuredness at the back would be sensible for me.
Irrespective of who we play, I hope Moyes and Moyes's general on the pitch (Pip of course), have a fully committed 'get stuck in and get at them through the channels' attitude and game plan. Felli, Ossie and Mikky have the ability and nouse to release Coleman and Pienaar to wreak havoc and a bouncing Goodison will rock as Tiger Tim's lethal finishing tears into the red meat! Let's fucken have 'em... bring it on, COYB!!!!
Think we need Steve Watson back at this rate.
Still havnt seen it confirmed anywhere else yet,
You never know, it is the Mail after all...
As long as Steve isn't coming back as a striker...
My team for Saturaday, assuming Neville, Saha, Rodwell and Anichebe are out:
Howard
Hibbert, Jagielka, Distin, Baines
Heitinga, Arteta
Bily, Fellaini, Pienaar
Cahill
Bench: Mucha, Beckford, Gueye, Osman, Yakubu, Coleman.
May actually help us in the short term as Moyes was doing his best to accommodate players and also give Jack game time.
We may have a settled selection now and get playing as a team again.
Just a thought.
Tony J Williams, that thought may have some weight behind it. Moyes definitely works better with a smaller squad of players and does seem to pick the longer serving and more experienced players, irrelavent of ability. Maybe it's something to do with keeping the changing room happy and the attitude of the more experienced possitive. Who knows? One thing I do know is ? when Rodwell returns, Moyes needs to start playing him in the middle or risk his head being turned.

Team for Saturday:
Howard
Coleman - Heitinga - Jagielka - Baines
Fellaini - Arteta
Gueye - Bily - Pienaar
Cahill
Now confirmed in the Echo (see homepage link). So the bastard Mail wasn't lieing after all... Bugger, bugger, bugger. It's like the lad has never had a proper chance to show just what he can do.
How the fuck can the Mail get that story right, after all the shite it's reported all summer re transfers?
It wasn't Alan Nixon, the usual perpetrator of the shitiest rumours. Odd too for them to slap on the "exclusive" tag, which I despise... maybe that flags Truth rather than Bullshit?
Perhaps Prenno could explain for our edification!
A real shame and for me it will take some of the gloss off the season until he's fit again. It will probably also be good for my blood pressure as I won't be worrying whether Moyes is going to play him or not or in what position.
Well at least it won't piss me off every week that he's on the bench again... for the next three months anyway. !!
And the Mail story was based on ... ?????
The official club statement would probably be on the lines that they are still waiting for the swelling to go down ? but not even that has come out yet. Bloody frustrating website... they should be in Government office!
Paul #6. I too would like to see Gueye given some game time soon. Perhaps not angainst the Mancs, but perhaps the Barcodes the week after.
His cross for Fellaini's goal against Huddersfield was the finest ball into the box I have ever seen!
It's all Mick Rathbone's fault!
Jeff Magee - I agree 100%
Straight Yellow - "for being a cunt"
Straight Red - "for being a proper cunt"
Why are these not in the laws of the game...?!?!
Because there'd be very few of the cunts left on the pitch.
So Jack is out for 3 months - makes you wonder about the wisdom of Moyes decision to let Yobo go out on loan.
Sad to see this lad go out as I really feel he could break through this year and get a bag of goals. Injuries are all part of football, Spurs are in a far worse position with their schedule and the injuries they've got. We need a rousing performance on Saturday and that'll kick start our season!
Perversly it will stop Moyes tinkering with players out of position. Strange how some bad things can actually turn into something positive.
We'll see.
COYB.
Moyes just confirmed it on Sky Sports News I'm afraid. Back in December.
Didn't Rodwell have a fairly lengthy ankle injury prior to last Christmas? If so, could this be a more serious problem? If so, surely it's best to get it operated on now before it is really knackered.
Same old, same old. No wins, strikers out injured, and now Rodwell... and to boot Manure coming up. The fix is in for this season. It will be safety first against Manure with just one striker again and that will be Cahill. We will try for a draw at home but unlikely we will get it barring a miracle.
Unlikely any of the new boys will start but I would like to see Heitinga start instead of Osman. Can't see it happening though.
I second the opinion that it was Rathbone's fault. We used to blame him all the time, so we might as well not stop.
All those complaining about the Yobo loan please stop. His form over the past two seasons was HORRIBLE! Do you not watch the matches?
The only way that that is REALLY bad news would be if Rodwell was in the starting 11 each week, scoring goals all the time and lighting the world on fire.
He's not and he isn't.
He won't be missed that much coz he duzn't fuckin' get a game.
If he was as good as everyone is saying / thinks he is, he wouldn't be playing for Everton, let's face it.
Andy,
He is as good as everyone says he is. But you're right, he probably won't be here for long... just like Rooney.
By the way, I've just seen a comment on NewsNow that Coleman's supposed to have twittered (if that's how you say it) that there's a big surprise for Saturday...
Coleman right wing, anyone?
