After the rather large set back at the weekend and much debate, tonight's game at Brentford seems to have been overlooked... surely here is an opportunity to at least restore a little pride?
So... what will the lineup be?... and the result? I've been to the bookies and placed a fiver on 3-1

Well a game has come at just the right time! We have had three days of anger and hurt and I for one hope never to see a performance of the like again. We must now get behind the team and hope that they have the same passion that we do for EFC.
Like D:Ream once said "things can only get better" and I believe that they will. Moyes faces one of the toughest tests of his career and if the people in the know are to be believed this man is a top manager so lets see him earn his cash. The start to the season has been dreadful but the next three games are all winnable and then we have a derby that may just be one of the most important for both teams in a long time.
Big ask but win all them and this negativity dissapears, yes overly optimistic maybe but whats the point of looking back, all that shit has happened and I dont want to be reminded of it.
Mucha
Hibbert Heitinga Distin Baines
Bily Neville Fellaini Gueye
Beckford Yak
Subs
Turner Jagielka Arteta Pinaaer Barkley Coleman Hibbert
Andrew Fair - You seem to have forgotten the other 4 matches in which we have failed miserably to win.
You need to remember this, everyone was hyped up, well some where and they have been clattered in the bollocks yet again by another inept opening season display.
Negative yes, DESERVED yes. Maybe when they pull their nuts out their asses and actually do something worth praising we'll be right there alongside cheering them on, but seriously this is an atrocious start to the season and something I am furious about.

Watch this space.

Neville Jags Heitinga Baines
Bily/Coleman Arteta Fellaini Pienaar

Well that's what it says in my Davey Moyes Thought for the Day Diary
Side for tonight:
Mucha, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Neville, Bilyaletdinov, Gueye, OSman, Coleman, Fellaini, Yakubu,
Good to see Gueye get a run out, looks like Coleman right mid maybe Bily playing off the Yak and Osman in centre-mid for once?
This is the night that Moyes tries to fashion a side which will start to claw it's way up the league. Hopefully it will comprise two strikers. For me it will always be the wrong two strkers.
For me the only two stikers playing together should always have been Vaughan and Beckford. I guess we'll never know.
One thing I do know, lose tonight Daveys' head is on the block.
COYB
so here is a city radio link online.
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/mrmooeverton
I'm as devastated as anyone else, but please, don't be stupid
Beckford, what a joke. Get Vaughan back from Palace now!!
Seasons over already, what a waste. It's ok though, Bill's out there looking for our Billionaire....
After tonight, he literally has to walk. I can't see one sane argument in favour of him staying, other than the very crap old "who would we get better?" line.
Answer: Anyone who doesn't play 4-5-fucking-1 against Brentford.
Not only can we do better than Moyes, it's now at the point where we can't do much worse than Moyes.
Defensive negative and totally ineffectual.
Cant see us staying up with this combination of tactics and formation.
The squad is decent, so where is the problem if it's not DM?
The buck stops there
And its time for Billy Bullshit to FUCK OFF too. The man is a CANCER and a CURSE on this club.
GET OUT the pair of you.
How much failure do fans like you need to put up with until you think he has to go ?
What does it take ? Unless you think he has a job for life for £3.5m per year.
Seriously though, there you go: Some have wanted him out for ages. I was stupid enough to have faith but even I have completely lost patience.
He got the tactics wrong, he hasn't gotten the best out of his assets for (being generous) the last three starts to the season, he's got players arguing with eachother on the pitch and the one last favourable characteristic of Moyes' management - his ability to buy crackers and turn them good - has gone out the window with Beckford and Bilyaletinov to name two signings who not only look lost at this level, they barely look like footballers.
"The buck stops here". The manager takes responsibility at a football club, thus after the absolute shambles we find ourselves in, Moyes HAS to walk.
He won't though, and Kenwrong won't sack him, because he's not stupid enough to throw away a secure job.
As for Man Utd taking him, the only "crying" I'd do if he went would be for the sad fact that Liverpool would have a greater chance of challenging for a title once more, because the dour negative ginger Scot will never win a league title regardless of what club he's at.
Fuck off Moyes I've had enough with your bad choices holding the team back and bringing embarrasment on our club once again.
I CANNOT BELIEVE IT
Sorry mate, but why should he fuck off? its his opinion, and tbh, its an opinion that rings true on here now.
I'm fucking sick to death of accepting second best under Moyes, we've had eight years of it, even when we qualified for the CL we fucked that up within 45 minutes, not going into the past anyway.
My main point is, he hasn't got a fucking clue, its 4-5-1 same shitty players and one striker on his own week in week out, 4-5-1 tonight away to the mighty Brentford, its a fucking defensive formation.
One striker upfront at home to Newcastle aswel, I'm sick of him we need someone else.
;)
in the mean time under reality skies, we once again played like utter shite. There is no fucking defending this inept manager. We went there defending 4-5-1. None of them give a fuck because of the bust up at Finch Farm the other day.
They complain they are being played out of position. They complain that some players who should be in the team are not.
And young Coleman is a right wing attacker if you ask me... not some rb defender.
Moyes, since you are so stubborn and won't change things around for the good of the club, then I am afraid it's time to hand your resignation in now. You have shown how inept you can be, and this is the final straw... if he doesn't hand it in then Kenwright needs to sack him.
I am sorry but for the sake of the club this manager needs to be got rid off now. He has lost everything with this team, he has too many fit players and the muppet is clueless.
No money? Just tot up how much he spent on billy, distin, heitinga and beckford and the team is no better with any of them in the squad.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt with our CL tragedy, even the Lescott saga.
This season however with a full squad and let's not forget for once it has depth, he has continually played to our weaknesses.
In my opinion we really needed a goal scorer, yes money is tight but we turned down 5mill for "Feed the Yak and he won't score" that could have been the answer.
Anyhow, my rambling's due to drowning my sorrows in Red wine need to stop and thus so does DM.
He has brought us as far as he can, now is the time for change to take us to the next level.
Tactically inept and too stubborn with makeweight squad members.
If this carries on how can we keep onto the likes of Rodwell, Heitinga and Arteta.
Please step down for the good of the club.
Never ever have I ever felt ashamed to be a blue but this man is killing this club.
He has no clue what he is doing. We all know how tactically stupid he is. We all know how bad steve round is. But I cannot forgive someone who doesn't have the balls to put a good quality team out, or indeed put a settled team in.
None of this is defensible, he thrives with injuries because he doesn't have fuck all to do but name fit people and shove them anywhere and they manage to win. He has a fully fit squad and what does he do? That's right ... defend. Remember, this is the man that turns strikers into defenders.
Success is measured only by what you win... Under Royle, we won an FA Cup; under Moyes? Too many embarrassing bad records broken.. LMA Manager of the Year three times? Who voted for him, his wife?
Anyway, now onto Fulham and a possible bust up with a certain M.Hughes.
Once again I'm disapointed, but every report i listened to tonight they all said the same thing,"Everton should have been 3-4 up at half time".
The game is about sticking the ball in the net,and at the moment it appears we have no players cabable of doing this.
Why no JH tonight i wonder,injured?sulking?..I said this a few days ago,i reckon all is not well within the dressing room at the club!
Are you happy with him playing players out of position all the time?
Are you happy with his continous picking of Osman, who is mostly shite?
Adam Doyle 9 years and counting..whats his excuse, even pro moyse fans are seeing how clueless he really is. Give him a medium sized squad and he declares it his best yet, then goes about shoving shit sides out, all out of position.
What is fella doing up top? he should be just ahead of the back 4, thats where his best position is. And he has shown on more than 1 occasion through his body language he doesn't like where he is playing.
A familiar story this season...
What bust up at Finch Farm?please enlighten me.
Thanks.
I'm very fucking sorry but, that's not the case at Everton, any other club appoints a manager and if the manager's plans have ran their course after, usually three years, they are sacked, even after a trophy they usually don't last beyond 6 years...so why then have we given Moyes 8 fucking years!
Moyes took us as far as he could go in 2009 after a second successive fifth place finish ? and at that time, both Man City and Spurs weren't very good, as soon as both them clubs hit the ground, were do we go? down the table...that's where.
He should've gone in 2009, last season was a joke, we all got fooled by our form after Christmas, after yet another pathetic opening. I suppose people defending him will forgive him if we pick up in January when, once again, it's too fucking late.
Under Moyes it will always be close but not close enough, accepting second best and utter mediocrity.
It disappoints mr how fickle some of our fans are and how they're incapable of seeing the bigger picture.
The level of Moyes bashing of late has took me by surprise, Kenwright on transfer deadline day didn't receive this much abuse, what's going on?
How many of the people slating Moyes now we're gullible in believing the Kenwright propaganda that we'll go with what we've got, and that we should be happy just to keep our players, and so didn't complain when we spent 1 million?
What were you refering too?
Other than that then it seems that Moyes has hit an impass which is very stale and we are in need of some fresh impetus. How where from I have no idea.,
Shameful tonight. Something has to change and quick.
David S Shaw - this is not a bad spell, its beyond that.
They should've been told to go out and play with freedom, but we got a DM special: no balance, no passion, no bottle... just no fucking idea how to win a game and no desire from the players to do so.
I've had enough, the squad and Moyes have peaked and are now in a descent, it's time for change. A new manager and a severe pruning of this group of heartless players. Another major low to add to Moyes's extensive catalogue of disasters!
Secondly - You are deluded if you think the past years with Moyes have been bad.
Third - I wouldn't say Bily and Heitinga are bad signings. Bily looked quite good last season and he was only finding his feet. And I'm sorry, but Heitinga not jusy play in the WC Final?
Fourth - Yes, 4-5-1 is frustrating at times, but I remember when we played 4-4-2 at Goodison (maybe last season, season before) and we played terrible. Seem to recall everyone on here belittling 4-4-2 then. We lose, you blame tactics, lather, rinse, repeat.
Fifth - Brian, you've got me there! I personally don't feel Osman is good enough to be the first name on the team sheet. And playing players outof position is a bad trait, I admit that.
Sixth - has no clue what he's doing? Won Manager of the Year a few times, but you're right, they hand that out willy-nilly. My nan got one last year. And no, it is not voted for by his wife.
Seventh - you can't possibly mean it when you say he's had money. He's had a bit every now and then but not a consistent pot to piss in.
If we're 19th come Christmas, I'll start to see your side. But I know we won't be. Consistency is what we need, and our past 4 league finishes have been 6th, 5th, 5th and 8th. And you want him out?
What bust up at Finch Farm?please enlighten me.
Thanks.
"I actually thought after 20 minutes it wasn't going to be our night. I said that to Steve (Round) when we didn't get the goals."
WELL PUT SOME MORE STRIKERS ON THEN!
Who would succeed Kenwright tho?
Are you please going to tell us all about the bust up at Finch Farm, and how you came about this info,or are you just going to ignore this third request which will lead me to believe your full of you know what!!
There are a lot of angry subs on the bench who Moyes wont give them the chance they should get.
I mean since he clearly hasnt got a clue what he is doing now. Why not shove the French lad on? By all accounts he is half decent, throw coleman on the wing. That way both wings are covered. Shove Fella back in front of the back 4, with Heitinga in central defense. Allow Pienaar to play just behind the top 2 strikers and allow Arteta to be creative.
But no we have to go with ossie, Hibbo and Neville at every single opportunity he gets.
Neville Jags Heitinga Baines
Coleman Arteta Fallaini Pieenar
Beckford Yakubu
Just for a change no Mr Moyes?
Thank you for clearing that up the "bust up @ Finch Farm" mystery, can i ask how you came about this information?,or should i mind my own business!
Oiver Molloy - that is what fat kenwright is paid for, not for us to worry about.
But id either go with Sven or Oneill both quality managers in their own right in my mind.
Oneill will get us thrusting on all cylinders and get us going again..and the truth is before he went to villa id have swapped moyse for him..really I would.
He was at the wrong club in villa..but man did he make them attack minded..unlike our defend at all costs bs.
But I wouldn't mind Neville having a go... Calm down, it's only a suggestion, he has played under Sir Tomato Face, and should know a thing or two about tactics. When we're playing the shite, he might think, "What would Sir Alex do!"
Either way, he couldn't do any worse.
Sorry don't agree Nick,Sven has hardly set the world alight and his record recently is not to good, and don't forget we have no money!!
If Moyes walks and i believe that will have to be the case,i would like to see Roy Keane.
You can't say Sven has done nothing recently despite a career full of trophies, then name Kean who almost took Sunderland down after spending a fortune and then last season with Ipswich being a mare. Sven was doing great at City and if he was kept on with these new owners they wouldn't be quite the joke. Not as funny as ours, but enough to raise a titter.
Craven Cottage
Everton................4-5-1
The usual stars; Heitinga (in position or out....you're still fucking shite, just fuck off alltogether), Distin as our central defender, Hibbert chosen yet again, Neville pulling the strings in midfield, Osman once again on the wing and....best of all, the Premier League's most feared striker, First division Jermaine Beckford upfront on his own.
Everton go down 2-0 without a fucking fight, once again Heitinga or Disitin at fault for at least one goal.
And just for good measure, the following day Neville or Osman declare Everton must turn it around, during a newspaper interview.
Don't even fool yourselves into thinking it will be any different....it wont.
The lads should be geeed up and ready to go on opening day, not sitting back struggling to run 10 yards because they played the like of Norwich City (no offense to them).
Each and every pre season the team is not focused come the start of the season, due to the obvious and clear facts they aren't playing decent opposition..where moyse can look at the squad and say shit yeah i need to strengthen here and there. It is something he never seems to do.
How the hell did he get any coaching badges from UEFA in the first place? don't they teach them these things during the training process to become a manager/ coach?
If you ask me, its a bad combination of Steve Round / Moyse.
It's no wonder England suffered under Mclaren when he had round as his number 2. Its no coincidence the skunks went to shite when he joined them..when he left they went down. Coincidence? not at all..and then we have moyse who is completely and utterly out of his depth.
This is not PNE Davey boy, or the championship, but you will push us down this season. Last year we got lucky with a decent run, but regardless of injuries this time your time is up.
What was all that about??
I don't like players mouthing off,do your talking on the pitch.
The mind boggles over what he has done. One thing is for certain if we dont get rid now, we'll be joining Preston next season.
We all deserve this club to reclaim its rightful place, not have terrible terrible records broken week in and out.
I mean this season's start is now officially the worse in over 22 years. That doesn't include the loss in the carling cup either.
Yes Moyse is such a grand manager, he has managed to win us nothing, he plays dour negative football. Won't let players shine in their rightful positions, or even have the balls to go 442 at home or at Brentford...yup time to force him out if he wont go.
Although I feel Beckford could do more, I am sure that Moyes didn't watch him at Leeds playing on his own, with his back to goal, holding the ball up. Why bring him in and expect (or hope) he can play in a different way.
It was a stupid gamble to try and bring in a player from the 1st Division and expect him to be able to cope with the Premier League straight off the bat. What loonatic would think of doing that?
He knew we needed more firepower last season... so why has he not delivered on this, and why after 8 seasons and a bit do we still not have a quality RB or a right Midfielder and a decent striker? 8 years of waiting for this baffoon to get 3 decent players... but I'd imagine they'd all be defenders by the time they finished with Everton.
I pity anyone playing under Moyes, really I would. You are told to play all over the park, week-in and -out, then you're expected to take a position you can't play in and he tells you to go out and play; if you can't you're benched... unless you're Osman or neville... Absolutely pig sick of the man.
With most club's he'd of been sacked last season, at Everton though, we accept second best and mediocrity instead of change.
If you add this to the rumours of Bily being disillusioned and Heitinga throwing a tantrum in training and demanding to be played in defence or not at all, then it suggests Everton's much heralded team spirit may be nearing breaking point. If the players start to lose, or have already lost, faith in the manager then he truly is fucked.
However, what I cannot fathom is the number of people that are saying that the solution to everything is to go 4-4-2. Just put 2 strikers up there and we'll convert all our chances and win every game 5-0!
Football as a game has largely evolved over the years and 4-4-2 has been largely figured out and not prevalent any more in the top leagues. Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U, Barca, Real, Inter, etc etc do not play with a conventional 4-4-2. They're not even set up to play that way at home. They have a system of play that revolves around fluid movement and interchangeable attackers.
Where Moyes has failed is not being able to get his attackers close enough to the lone frontmen to support him. Whether this is due to fear, players off-form, or a lack of tactical acumen is a debate best left alone.
What is clear is that we've been dominating possession in games this season and getting a lot of shots on goal. (apart from newcastle game) Our players are lacking the confidence at the moment to finish off some off these flowing moves.
Will this change by automatically sticking 1 more striker on top? I doubt it. But mark my words, when we get a lucky break or two and the goals start flowing, the players confidence will rise and we will see a 10-15 match unbeaten run.
I'm sincerely wishing it starts this weekend as the current atmosphere amongst the club and its supporters is mildly depressive.
I still feel the same, DM please jog on.
We are stuck with Beckford, Sicknote, Osman, Yakuba, Anichebe.
This is how I'd do it, but then managing my pub side into 10th out of 11 this season, I wouldn't read to much into that!
Howard
Hibbert
Heitinga
Jagielka
Baines
Fellaini
Arteta
Rodwell (also backup for Heitinga)
Piernaar
Cahill/Bilyaletdinov (shared role)
Saha
Subs
Mucha
Coleman/.Hibbert
Osman/Gueye
Neville/Distin
Yakubu
Anichebe
Beckford
Rodwell
Obviously we have seen that formation work wonders (last season against Chelsea, Man U, Man City, etc), but we have also seen the horrible dross this season. What?s the difference? Confidence.
It?s the one ingredient that is sorely missing at the moment. It?s the factor which changes a net-bulging finish to a lame side-foot that trickles into the keeper?s arms (here?s looking at you Mr Osman). Cos when you?re in front of goal and an opportunity presents itself, it doesn?t matter if you were played out of position or not. It doesn?t matter if we have 2 up top or 11 up top. It comes down to composure and technique. Sadly, that seems to be lacking in almost every single player at the moment.
I do blame Moyes for not being able to find the right combination of players to fit what is surely a very intensively coached system. But its also partly down to the players themselves who at the moment do not seem to have the drive or determination to apply themselves and their abilities.
I mean lets weaken our already dodgy looking midfield by going 4-4-2, smasking logic that. There is noone in that midfield who will put in a gutsy challenge anymore, that's why the teams are pissing right through the middle, so the answer? Let's have less in midfield....fecken genius.
Good point about the shooting (yep I too am looking at you Osman, put yer fecken laces through it lad) doesn't matter how many up front there is, if the useless tossers can't actually score
He was the worst player on the field against the Barcodes and yet never got substituted and the kept his place and played the full game last night. Funny how he is supposed to be an attacking midfielder but couldn't take a penalty? This is down to Moyes and he like all managers has to take the rap irrespective of who is available to take over. How many more matches do we give him using the same selection and strategies?
Martin Oneil is available?
O'Neill has just left Villa because they were selling his players and not allowing him to buy, exactly why would he come to us then?
You'd of been better off buyin' a fivers of speed bud, at least you'd have got the benefit of that....
We're fuckin' shite.
And it is a blip, or are you suggesting that we always lose or draw?
The meaning of a blip is that it is out of the ordinary and it is. Last season there were only 4 teams who lost less games than us and therefore it is a blip, not the norm.

I'd actually go with the majority of the team that played Newcastle on Saturday, with a few changes, this would give players who haven't played much ie; Billy and Yak some much needed game time whilst also giving the others a chance to boost their confidence as early as possible.
The team I'd go with is:
Howard Neville Jagielka Distin Baines Bily Fellaini Arteta Gueye Osman (assuming Cahill is still out) Yak Bench: Mucha, Hibbert, Heitinga, Gueye, Beckford, Coleman, BarkleyCOYB
