Does anyone know how Joseph Yobo is getting on at Fenerbahçe? We're only an injury away from needing defensive cover, but perhaps more significantly, if Joey is deemed definitely surplus to requirements, shouldn't we be considering a sale to fund another attacking option, wide player or back up left back?
A quick google news search revealed that he's speaking out about matters to do with Nigeria, but little on the playing side. Anyone more clued up?

Yobo has played six matches out of 12 for Fenerbahce after being injured in his debut appearance. He has been playing well. The team has a goal difference of +30 after 12 matches, which says something about the defence. There have been stories that AC Milan wants to sign him next season for 6 Million. Yes, I know that last part seems incredible but those are stories coming out of Nigeria where Yobo is a national hero.
He's done well but no surprise really its a poor league and he is a decent player. I still don't think he offers any more or less than what we have though. Moyes obviously just wanted a left footer in Distin
Funny enough there is a Fenerbahce fan in my office. He gets his Sky subscription via a Turkish sky box/set up. He say Yobo has gone down a storm since his injury and many of their fans want to purchase him. He is very impressed at his organisation and pace.

That is a very strange and prejudiced remark. I put no additional credibility in the fact that these rumors come out of Nigeria. However, as that is where his family are and where his career is most closely followed, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that there might be a source there with an inside track. I merely stated a fact. The Nigerian media is no more prone to make shit up than, say, the British media, which invents stuff all the time. One may as well say, "who the fuck would believe any story coming out of England??!!

Their media are however probably not any worse than the british media. One of the least respected in the world. Alongside American magazines with headlines like "my son-in-law gave birth to alien twins through his earlobes"
