Hairy Goats?

When Steve Round arrived, he came with a reputation of being an enthusiastic user of the latest technology. I was wondering if he makes use of those geo thingys that keep tabs on the movement of and distance covered by players.

More and more clubs are using that technology and it would be surprising if Round is not also into it. Some players run about like hairy goats and with the same affect so distance covered may not be a true indication of their worth.

Nonetheless it would be an interesting talking point to compare our players with others playing in similar positions.On distance covered by Everton players in descending order my top half dozen are, Cahill, Fellani, Baines, Pienaar, Neville, Distin...

Wouldn't do it on today's game ? it would be highly embarrassing to find 10 West Brom players above any of ours.

Jay #1, Beckford is what I call a hairy goat. Lots of run to no effect.

Ray #4, to continue with animal themes, the Yak is a lumbering Ox and Saha is a fragile show pony.

A combination of all three would not make a centre-forward's arsehole.

Allardyce is a great advocate of this sort of stuff, a bit like my shed I've got power tools all over the place but can't hammer a nail, saw a piece of wood or paint a wall without setting the house on fire.

These managers don't get it, if they have'nt got ability all the gadgets in the world won't fix it.

Dick, Beckford does lots of running to no effect? What, like getting in goalscoring positions 5 times in the space of 15 minutes... how is that no effect? I think your tele must be playing up.
