More investment rumours!

Got this from Evertonians4Change:

Rumour from the followtonians podcast www.followtonians.com from an "independent source". Property developer George Downing is rumoured to be trying to get a consortium together.

According to the ever reliable Wikipedia he is worth £500million. He was also the guy who was chucked out of the posh box at the City Of Manchester Stadium last season for taking the piss out of Garry Cook and Co cos we were winning 2-0.

But NSNO says: George Downing's people about takeover rumours, their comment?

"George has said there is no truth in this whatsoever"

More bullshit from the board?

This is where it should stop. There was never interest in buying the club. Point me in the directon of a super-wealthy businessman/women with a degree of sense that will let Kenwright and his bufoons control the club whilst they pour money into it. We as a collective are in dreamland, the fans, the board, the club as a whole are not anywhere nearer a solution. Deal with it folks, I am afraid.

Agree with your sentiments, Steve ? the bastards won't get another penny of my money come the end of the season when my season ticket expires. I was intending on buying an extra two junior tickets for my kids for next season, but what's the point? How I laugh when I flip over this season's ticket to read "Share the belief"... the irony.

George Downing is a bona fide Evertonian, he has a parking space behind the Park End Stand and attends Everton games on a regular basis. If he is worth an estimated £500m then he would be considered one of our most wealthy supporters.

Terry Leahy must also be very wealthy following his association with Tesco and Lord Granchester of the Moores empire is an Evertonian.

It would be interesting to read who else is worth a bob or two who have an affinity with Everton, the guy from Matalan, John Hargreaves, also seems to ring a bell. Surely there must be a consortium out there that can be formed to rid us of this shambles.

Breaking News: Old club with a very old ground in talks with potential investors ? No, it isn't Everton. It is QPR.

Obviously I know nothing about who they are in talks with, but what have QPR got that Everton haven't? I can only see one thing going for them and that is the London factor!

I'm fucking sick of these rumours. Does the club think we're so thick we can't see what they're up to now season tickets are up for renewal?

This is an old trick by the pricks that "run" our club so I hope no-one falls for this load of shite.

Craig (#7) ? no idea where the idea of QPR looking for investment would come from as they currently have Bernie Eccleston as major shareholder, who isn't short of a few bob, plus Lakshmi Mittal as a major shareholder and he's the richest person in Europe and was 5th richest person in the world with a personal wealth in excess of £19Bn. But don't let their shithole of a ground make any excuses for it ? guess it didn't put off Bernie Ecclestone from them either.

Gavin, I know they have rich owners already but this is reported on BBC etc. No rumour ? they are in talks. My point about their shit ground was to show how it is such bollocks that Goodison is a problem for us. It just shows how much bollocks Bill and the board spill to us.

Graham, granted they perhaps do not have the debt of us which is a fair point. So long as ecclestone etc do not call in any loans they have given the club!

My point is that it is all proof that people do want to buy football clubs at the moment. So people who support BK about the economy etc being a problem and all his other lies should seriously take a look at how BK is killing us.
