Everton too small for Gignac
Andre-Pierre Gignac says he turned down the chance to join Everton in January because the club is not big enough.
The 26-year-old was the subject of much speculation during the January transfer window but opted to stay with Marseille rather than move to England with Everton.
Gignac is out of favour with the French club but clearly has a high opinion of himself after declaring he would only move to a top four club in the Premier League.
"Everton is a top Club in England but for me Marseille is bigger and more attractive," Gignac told skysports.com. "I want to play one day abroad but at a bigger club like the Manchester Uniteds of this world.
"I do want to make a name for myself at Marseille. I love the club."

Gignac...Who?
Nah... I think you must be too 'small time'
for us to care !
This headline seems more sensational and dismissive of us than his actual quotes.
It seems the only thing big about him is his head
This guy looked so out of his depth at the World Cup it was embarrassing. Can't imagine he would offer too much more than we have.
Isn't that a variety of Brandy?
Arrogant wanker!
Would a Frenchman swap the Mediterranean and champions league for 10th place cold-up-north mediocrity?

Thats actually rather funny. What an arrogant and in football terms - ignorant thing to say. He'll probably end up at somewhere like Wigan. Prick.
Don't see what the lad has said that is wrong, he's ambitious, and at the end of the day, we're not a big club.
Keep dreaming, lad ? I think you actually have to play decent consistent football to get signed up by the likes of Man Utd.... That's him screwed then!
That's fine Brian#991, but who the fuck is he? admittedly I'm not a football anorak, but I'm aware of the hot new talent everyone's chasing ie Eden Hazard, but he's a new one on me
Hope he gets fucked off to Crewe
Rubbish glad we didn't go for him. The french Crouch.
Wasn't he a small bond villain in the Man with the Golden Gun?
Gignac! Tabasco!
Gignac: Right away, Monsieur Scaramanga.
We are a big club. There is a difference between being a big club and having current succesful team though. It is more attractive to play for a team in the top 4, but if wigan were in the top 4 they would not be a bigger club, they would have a more succesful current team, there is a difference.

Gignac is a striker and scored less goals than Tim Howard this season...
He is dire! Absolutely spot on Andrew Ellams. He traps the ball further than most players can kick it. A pure mule. I would sign Gary Doherty before him.
Jim, I'd sign Pete Doherty before him after those comments!
Shannen Doherty even Dan.
I'll see your Pete and Shannen, and I'll raise you a Ken.
The 'professionals' of today.
Can only see the glittery baubles right in front of their noses.
Like big, soft, dumb kids all of them.
"I want to play for them....no I mean THEM....oh no I mean the OTHER team".
Gignac Schmignac, hope he breaks both legs...at the thigh.
Spot on Alexander #35 as well as no goals not even an assist ......... useless lump ........ makes Carroll look good
John @ 80, was with you until " makes Carroll look good". Impossible.
We may not fit the "big club" stereotype any more, but this guy is kidding himself if he thinks he's Premier League top four material. Can't even get into the team at Marseille for pete's sake!
Never heard of him !!!!!!!!!!!
He was truly awful in the World Cup. As were most of the French. And the English!
Jimmy Doherty! read em and weep Nick.
I think that is about all the famous Doherty's that I know of.
All better than Gignac the mule.
John @ 80
Arthur Askey couldn't make Carroll look good.
Would he be available in January from a Club that doesn't need the money for financial reasons if he was quality? Anyway if he was any good Wenger would have snapped him up by now.Bendtner is another who talks himself up but fails to back his words up on the pitch were it matters.
Never heard of him so no great loss! We should drop him a list of people who have never ever heard owt about him and ask him to continue his career with some Mickey Mouse French club!
