£8m price tag slapped on Rhodes
Huddersfield have told reported suitors like Everton and Fulham that it'll take £8m to prise free-scoring striker, Jordan Rhodes, away from them this summer.
David Moyes apparently scouted the 40-goal man earlier this season but if he is to follow up any interest, it'll take more than the £3.5m Fulham are reported to be offering.
'We may have to consider acceptable offers, but £3.5m doesn't come close," says Terriers boss, Simon Grayson.
"It might be the right figure for someone who has scored 10-15 goals, but not 40. It wouldn't be enough to buy Jordan's right boot, let alone all of him."

Ok.........Im just doing the maths.........we can't even afford to buy his right boot!!
We can't even afford his left!
How many strikers are we linked with?
£8 million, even in this today's football, is a lot of money to pay for strike who played in League 1 last season. Prolific or not!
Good hardball by Simon Grayson. I reckon he'll go for 5-6m and probably to Qpr or one of the promoted teams.
Highly unlikely we'll be spending more than 6m in the whole transfer window, let alone on one player. Unless of course one of the giants comes in with a lescott-esque bid....
That's quite cheap to buy a Greek island.
^and we might just see 6m as the spare change after the banks have taken their cut.
Methinks Kenwright has employed a reverse physcology role here in that the Baines deal has probably been done, but both sides have kept it secret, so obviously after we've done our `shopping`, we will be more likely to take it on the chin him going...
Never mind if we can afford his right boot or his left boot.....we cannot even afford his laces
We cannot afford and wouldn't want to buy him for £8 million... Great talent in his division, but many have flattered to deceive in the lower leagues, and it is unlikely that he would make a significant impact on the Prem. When people like Giround have a £13mil release fee, and Cisse was available for £10mil, makes more sense to shop abroad.
Has anyone actually seen enough of this player to give an opinion on his ability?Yes its in a lower league but at 22 the amount of goals he has scored is stil impressive.
Tom #872 - Thats the sort of conspiracy theory I like. Nice one.
£8m ? haha! Excuse me while I go chase the flying horse that just went by my window...
Watched him yesterday - he reminded me of Peter Crouch - only less mobile, less skilful and slower.
Jermaine Beckford is/was better.
Based on what I saw of Rhodes yesterday and Nick Powell of Crewe today, Powell is twice the player Rhodes is.
Not worth the money, I was surprised they turned down the £3.5m from Fulham. Personally I think the best player to take a gamble on would have been Jamie Vardy, watched him a few times this year and he is quality; how well he will do at the higher league I don't know. I think he would be worth the £1m the Leicester paid and it will be interesting to see how he works out this coming season.
I would like to see a loan forward brought in to cover Jelavic and provide support; if we are going to spend, midfield, right and a right back would be great too, although I think Coleman should be given a chance there. His tacking stats the season before were very good, and he can push forward.
Strong rumours we have signed Naismith from Rangers. It says on Wikipedia fact file on him he signed 4 year deal
Wasn't Brett Angel prolific at that level too?
Thomas - 859. I reckon even Kenwright could afford a Greek island at the minute mate. Unfortunately he cant afford footballers.
Alex Willett I have heard nothing on Steven coming and looking on wiki can see anything there?
Alex is correct. In the fact box on Naismith's Wikipedia page, it lists his current club as Everton. I don't see the reference to the four-year deal that Alex mentions.
Oh fellas, if it is on Wikipedia then it must be true????????
