Cahill jets in for Moyes departure

He's considered by many as David Moyes' greatest signing at Everton, so it was only fitting that Tim Cahill returned to Goodison Park to help bid farewell his former manager on Sunday.

And it also gave the Everton crowd on Sunday a chance they were denied last season to say their own thanks and goodbyes to the iconic goalscoring Aussie, who has spent the last season in MLS with New York Red Bulls.

Moyesie has bought some crackers over the years but nothing compares to Tim Cahill.

The sight of his 5-foot 10-inch frame outjumping 6 foot plus defenders was a sight for sore eyes and if the new manager can get someone with half of Tim's ability, he would have done well.

Cahill is what is known in the Antipodes as a "good bastard" ... Great to see him at Goodison. He has always spoken about us as "his home" and this will continue. On ya Timmy!

The sky coverage cut off just as Cahill was being announced to the fans unfortunately. Was a nice gesture to have him there.

The only part of the day that I am gutted I missed. A true blue legend, unlike Moyes and Neville.

Obviously being a Pom I loved that our best player was an Everton player. My greatest regrets were that he never picked up silverware with us and that he married his childhood sweetheart before my daughters became of age.

My uncle talked to Tim once at a do, said all he could talk about was how much he loved Everton. Once the club gets under your skin you cant get rid of it.

It;s funny but when ever I see Timmy I think of Alan Ball. They must be next to each other in my brain.

I saw Timmy a couple of weeks ago playing for Red Bulls in Toronto, he was brilliant and scored two, the second was a trademark 6ft leap to head in the winner, then off to the corner flag. I also saw Donovan bossing another game in Toronto; he also got two. Neither of our favourite sons showed any loss of form or enthusiasm for the game, magic.
