Everton still tracking Fer

11/03/2013 | Comments (20)
It will come as small consolation to Evertonians who have seen the season collapse after the club failed to strengthen the squad in January but Everton are apparently still tracking Leroy Fer.

Concerns over the quality of the surgery to perform his damaged miniscus apparently scuppered the Dutchman's move to Goodison just before the transfer window and nothing will have changed on that score come the summer.

If reports that Fer remains a target are true and not a post-Wigan PR exercise, presumably the Blues will try and get the midfielder on a reduced fee, although FC Twente are unlikely to go for that and they are suggesting that a number of clubs are interested.

You'd have thought we'd have picked a new player to not sign in the summer.

I can't believe the shit this club rolls out?!
No respect for fans whatsoever!
An intelligent approach would be total silence after this weekend. But no..... Get your season tickets allover Facebook BOOM first thing this morning?! Fellaini won't be attending his personal appearance ( No shit, roll some other fucker out who gives a shit ). EFC still pursuing Fer?! Get the lot out.

"Careful what you wish for" people need to wake up. Who else, what else? A simple answer... Anyone with half a brain in their fuckin nut could run this club better, on or off the pitch.

To be 'still' pursuing someone/something, don't you need to be pursuing it in the first place?

So Fer is the new Moutinho! Endlessly and imnplausibly linked with us just as Robbie Keane was. SInce the Wigan game lods of MOyes and Kenwright bashing has gone on but what about Robert Elstone, he is useless. Can someone give him a load of stick too.

If and when Moyes goes, the new manager will walk into the same problems - no money to spend. I just hope whoever it is can get more out of a small squad than Moyes has or else we could be in trouble.
Moyes is not blameless but it's the Board I want sorting first. Where is their ambition? At least Moyes says he wants to bring in more players which indicates he wants to push the club on. The Board do nothing to help.

Does anybody and I mean anybody really think that Moyes would have put Fer straight into the team ahead of his "captain". He bought a right back that he has no intention of playing no matter how badly Coleman or pip play. Too many square pegs trying to fit into round holes is the problem. Does he know which is the big belgiums best position is by now., because one week hes up front and the next hes a defensive midfielder. Most of the first team have played in two different positions. That is the main problem and that is down to Moyes and his unwillingness to give the kids a place in the team in the positions they are comfy with.

@Paul Ellam, I don't care just as long as he goes. I'm sick of watching his alehouse tactics week after week, and constantly being told "Be careful what you wish for"... well I just wish he and Kenwright would go because I've had enough, and I won't be attending another game at Goodison Park while these two are still at the helm.

I am certain he would put Fer straight into the side and this could and should have happened during the transfer window in January.
Stones is unproven and still learning his role.
Fer is a Dutch international and would have given this team a big impetus to remain on course for europe.
The board are a joke !! But not a funny one.

The ONLY investors in the club are the fans...they pay to watch games and buy the merchandise.

The board have made profits from their shares but do not put anything back.

Other clubs have chairmen who genuinely care for their business and invest in it themselves.
For example Whelan at Wigan and Ashley at Newcastle.
Many foreign owners invest their own money at premier league clubs.

Our board are all multi millionnaires in their own right but keep a tight grip on their purse strings.
They only buy when they have already sold...and the only time they have used funds without selling was when we were under threat of relegation.
Normally the manager only gets a fraction of what is gained by a sale.

What next, a £100 million bid for Messi paid in 25 year £5 million installments? Our board is an absolute joke!

Ross a £100m bid in which we pay £125m does sound like the kind of deal our board might put on the table.

Or Drew, Bill would ruin the deal by claiming he is injured and only offer about £10million.

If we were serious about wanting to sign Leroy Fer in January (and if we really are still interested) but his fitness/medical future was an issue, then why did we not take him on loan until the end of the season?

As I understand it, a loan can be curtailed early if there is good reason, such as a players leg falling off during training.
