Delegates from Milan have recently been in the city to study the Hill Dickinson Stadium as part of their fact-finding mission for the San Siro project, according to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium, which officially opened in 2025, has a capacity of 52,769 spectators. The waterfront venue, built at the Bramley-Moore Dock site over the River Mersey, hosted its first Premier League game on August 24, where Everton beat Brighton 2-0.
Both Milan and Inter officially acquired the San Siro site last November, including the famous Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, which was previously owned by the city council. Both clubs are planning to build a new stadium at the same site, although, adjacent to the current Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.
Construction of the new ground is expected to begin in 2027 with both clubs intending to have a state-of-the-art venue ready to host matches during EURO 2032. Demolition of the current stadium could take place in 2031.
Everton is not the only stop for the five-member delegation from Milan. They are also looking to visit other venues, including Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium and Borussia Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park, on their fact-finding mission.

The last game I went to, there were only 20 Atalana supporters in the away end, it was so empty you could easily count them.

But I do know the new Atletico Madrid stadium has a road running underneath it.

Paul #7, you sure? They're building on the car park next to the existing stadium, there's really no need to complicate the construction with a road. Unless you're thinking of underground parking for the stadium which the existing San Siro has?

Bramley-Moore Dock definitely needs its own train station, but when you have got members of Liverpool City Council uttering words like "We weren't sure if the stadium would be finished" -- What exactly are people voting for?

The proposed building of thousands of new homes, offices etc, all good news, but is all this dependent on the car, the occasional bus? It all needed a proper transport plan. The absence of one is shocking really.
I remembered the train system at the San Siro and that was 35 years ago. I also visit Düsseldorf to watch Fortuna. Albeit Fortuna are currently playing in Bundesliga, 2 they have a stadium used for the last Euros serviced by a train station that drops you at the stadium gates and has train after train waiting to get fans away after the game.
They all handle the logistics so much better and make for a much better fan experience.
I got the ticket for that game, Tony, because the company I worked for had an office in Milan and I blagged one of their tickets.
I was probably one of few Brits in a very hostile Dutch / German atmosphere, they hate each other.

The council did not believe the stadium would be built, they never looked at the infrastructure, transport links etc.
One thing guaranteed: if it was Liverpool moving to the area, they would have looked at and addressed the issues.
Do German fans still get free trains to the game by showing their match tickets?

Consequently, people use it, less cars at football matches.
No money is exchanged, all seems to be paperless, either using digital rail season tickets or football tickets as means of payment.
Some standing makes for a better atmosphere, treated like adults, allowed a beer while watching the match.
The standard of German football is generally behind ours, but all the logistics are well ahead from what I've seen.
Many of us will remember the joys of Nuremberg away in Moyes's first tenure.

I'd say most European countries have a far better transport system than us. Our transport system isn't fit for purpose.

Did you (or maybe it was your father) attend Abbotsford Road school in Norris Green?

As dissimilar as North and South Korea.
