Every season is pre-season

I have been reading comments of why Moyes keeps players on the bench, the team having bad preparations for the season etc etc...
There's something that puzzles, irritates, frustrates me: that is Moyes's approach to his style of managing the team and his players. When you have the players available, when you have the youngsters who are playing well and so damn willing to play for the team, when it is obvious some 'other players' are not performing, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know which is the best 11.
This team which Moyes currently played, is last season's team, or maybe two seasons ago. After seeing them played week-in, week-out, he still doesn't realize that they are only good enough for 5th to 10th position in the league? (Honestly, that 4th we got was just one off, we were just lucky.)
His reason is, it will kill the new players and youngsters if they are put into the team too soon. But what is he waiting for? Till it starts to piss off Pienaar, Arteta and Heitinga when they realise it is not happening? Or maybe Baines and Jagielka? Waiting for another club to come buy our stars and youngsters?
He is just too conservative. Maybe he was a defender, never liked to gamble. He has been playing the waiting game for seasons. Rodwell... please wait. Coleman... wait. Silva... wait. Gueye... wait. Be aggressive and play 2 strikers... wait.
Eeer...what are we waiting for? I KNOW! NEXT SEASON!! COS IT IS STILL PRE-SEASON! DAMN!

The players chosen in the first two games are the same ones that did so well the second half of last season, and beat City, Utd and Chelsea. Unfortunately they have just not got the job done. Inferior opposition that we expected 6 points from.
It`s really pissed everyone off that we have made a slower start than we all expected. The only reason I have is that when we play a top half team our set up shape is much better. We are not yet used to being the team on the front foot looking for ways of breaking teams down. Getting the first goal is important.. and that`s what we must do against Villa on Sunday.
Expect the boys to get going sooner rather than later. We have both the squad and the manager to do it - IMWT
There is no hiding from the fact that we should be looking at 6 points from 2 games with the quality of oppostition we have played. But we are not and we cant do anything about it now except move on,,,
Blackburn and Wolves made it hard for us and will do so for many teams this season, we simply did not do enough to break them down and that is dissapointing, of course it is. But we do have quality players who are more than capable of turning a game and we WILL show that.
That all important first win is what we all crave and with that comes confidence. We have shown in the past that when we get on a run we can be a damn tough team to beat and that is no fluke, I am a huge fan of David Moyes and think he has done a wonderful job consoladating Everton, the challenge now is to make that nest step, I think he can... I think WE can. 4 points from our next 2 games is gettable thats for sure... I am confident.. I always am tho.
The problem I have is that Moyes does not have the players on the bench to change the system. An age old criticism of Moyes is his lack of a plan B. All of those players on the bench on Saturday were like for like replacements. Fellaini for Heitinga, Saha for Beckford, Osman for Bily. Rodwell is another midfielder similar to Heitinga and Fellaini. Gueye could have come on for Pienaar. There's no real variation with the players that would have changed the way we play. That's why Moyes should really be making sure he gets in a player with some pace before August 3st just so we have a plan B.
"Expect the boys to get going sooner rather than later."....... think we have been hearing this since many years ago Ped...I am also confident they will..."soon" that is.... and we will be there in the table...MID that is. And yes, my toes are laughing Ped! HA HA HA. Anichebe? I bet you are a by-line painter! Cos he never step onto your line! thank you.
Anichebe? Thought he is just another Yak.
So after just 2 games of the season you believe that all we can achieve is mid table... well I don't think you do, David... I have just as much faith in you as I do in Big Vic! (lol)
