Now all the nonsense is behind us and we haven't been able to snare DJ Campbell or Grafite, can someone give us some info on Gueye and the Portugese lad, da Silva? Is there any possibility either of these two can do something for us this season?
We now have to work (well, Davey or his replacement does) with what we have got. What about the defender we got from Hamburg (Mustafi)?
Should Yobo come back into the picture if Jags is crocked for a while? Can Coleman cement a place in the team ahead of Pip? Questions,Questions, so many questions. Oh, I'm so tired after todays speculation, just... so, you know... tired.

No Landing for Landon, Osman it is then. Gonna be a long season guys, top 4...I don't think so.
I can't see DM putting up with it for much longer.
We are now going to have to make do with filling positions with 2nd choice players for those places. E.g, Coleman or Arteta on the right. It might work, but it's far from ideal.
The board have a lot of explaining to do. But they will probably waffle their way out of it again.
I am disappointed that we weren't able to wheeler deal a pacey winger or striker, even on loan. Until seeing him at the Villa game then I wouldn't have thought so but maybe giving Coleman a chance on the right of midfield is worth a shot.
I think Champions League is now out of reach but a domestic cup and a top seven finish is not out of the question.
On the £13m Gyan to Sunderland-transfer:
Sky Sports News:
"In a move to off-set some of the huge fee, Sunderland have agreed to let Martyn Waghorn join Leicester in a deal worth £3million."
How the f....... can Leicester spend £3m and we can't? Leicester!! FFS!!!
Sunderalnd are in a much better position than us now, 2 strikers with pace that do scaore, a great stadium and owners taht back the manager. Thanks to the Kenwright regime we are running to stand still, and i'm not sure we can even do that anymore.
Gone are the days when you'd see 4-5 big signings at Goodision like ol' Wally used to get us.
Was it Dacourt, Collins, Materazzi, Watson all in one summer, even if the football weren't great we had some decent signings to look forward to.
Could someone not go undercover and discover the day in the life at Goodison. Would be certainly interesting to see the day to day running of the club and whats goes on there.
We are now at a level where we are happy to sign league one players on a free as well as untried and unheard of foreign teenagers and you can't hope to stay in and around the top six for long like that. Our net transfer spend for the last three years is practically zero and we are clearly now a sell to buy club.
How long Moyes puts up with it is anyone's guess, but if he goes, then I expect a lot of his players to use that as a reason to jump ship with him.
We need investment and quick, but I would suggest that Kenwright hopes that his statements on that very subject last week will mean no questions will be asked for at least another twelve months when we're in exactly the same position again.
Complete bullshit every year, we weaken the squad every transfer window. If they had their way the Yak would have been sold and no one brought in, no doubt about it!
We have a wealth of strikers but all have question marks over their ability in one way or another. I personally think Saha will find form at some point, and with Beckford, Vaughan (who i hope gets a chance), Yak and Vic as back-up we will do ok. The main thing is service. We are three games in and still trying to find our rhythm and when we do our strikers will come alive.
Our right wing is our main problem but with Moyes giving Coleman a chance on the right wing against Villa, hopefully this is a sign he is willing to introduce him in this position more often. If he does then a new right winger is certainly not needed.
We all like to see new signings, especially big ones, but we may have the players we need already. I of course maybe wrong and this season maybe a complete failure, but its far too early to write us off just yet. I seem to recall the word relegation being used in November last year.
On the team side, we have a decent squad, good team spirit and the chance for top 7 if the players play to their potential. It's no use beating Man utd and Chelsea if you lose to teams like Blackburn, Sunderland and the like. We need the guys we have got to deliver.
We will do okay this season I am sure, but unless the financial situation at the club changes and we can start to buy some quality additional players in line with the competition we will start to lose players like Rodwell, Jags et al, followed by Moyes. With no money we will be looking at managers well down the pecking order. I know money has always played a part but the like of City and Chelsea are screwing our football league good and proper.
How people can defend this prick is beyond me
Yobo goes with our blessings, but as another poster puts it our issues are futher up the field. Just because we ain't spent more than Blackpool is not a reason to hit the panic button. I've got a sneaking feeling Moyes and Kenright have something up their sleeves for January i.e. Donovan. He'll be coming back anway I think, even if just on loan as last year. In the meantime, he'll be bringing through the fringe players from last year i.e. Rodwell, Coleman and Gueye will be getting a look-in too I think.
As for recent results, we've been playing them all off the park, especially at Villa. It'll just take a spark for us to kick into gear. A result against Man U ain't out of the question again.
Anyway, we'll be fine. And as for the next transfer window in January, my slightly drunk prediction is...
Owen.
A season that had much promise, and which could have been special with a meagre transfer spend - is slowly but surely turning sour.
This will always be the case while two bit Bill and his mates are in charge. That is a cold hard fact - and one that a huge proportion of our fans fail to acknowledge, ruminate or even accept.
We have hit a glass ceiling. And it's rather depressing.
I believe we do.
If we miraculously get into the top 6 with our current squad..BK will never release funds to buy players....it will take a fans revolution like it did when we signed Fellaini.
Blackpool signed DJ Campbell - gosh I wonder why Man U and Chelsea missed out on that one?
Sunderland signed Gyan for £12m. El Hadj Diouf to the shite after a good World cup anyone?
Who did Man U sign today? - no one.
Who did Chelsea sign today? - no one
Who did Arsenal sign today? - no one
Who did the shite sign today? Konchesky
Sunderland
Whoever he sent out these first 3 games, EFC has had the better of play. Keep that up and the balls will start crossing the goal line. Imagine how frustrated the players are?
Less than a year ago, who knew what line-up was going to come out of the tunnel in Blue. Now DM has to figure out his best combos because he has a lot to choose from. Pretty nice, however much 1 point out of the first 9 sucks.
Good things are in front of us this season.
P.S. As much as I hate saying it, given the above, DM will not be looking to sign LD come December. And LD won't want to just do another loan, as much as he wants to be a Toffee.
So, let me thank you bunch one last time for how well you treated him last season. A LOT of EFC goodwill was spread in America by Landon's reception at Goodison.
Ha, ha Andy.
Unlike yourself, I don't see the Kenwright/Moyes thing as one inseparable entity which is inextricably linked.
You and I have opposite views on what David Moyes has done for the club, etc.
The board, however, is a totally different matter. I do see the whole lack of investment business and all the BK mutterings over the last 10 years, etc. as having held the club back. And it is still doing so.
While I don't subscribe to the personal vilification of Bill Kenwright that some do, I am sick and tired of the empty promises of 24/7, 7 or 8 times a year, 4 times in the last few months, etc. And I feel that the present economic climate is being used as a smokescreen to cover these shortcomings. "Extraordinary!" as he said recently. Today was underwhelming in the extreme.
So really what I am saying is, you don't have to lump one with the other. It's good to separate these things out and see each for it's merits and demerits.
I haven't just 'seen the light'!
The depth in the squad is good and the sensible business move would have been to cash in on a few fringe players and keep trying to build the first 11 while the bailiffs are off our doorstep... but I still think Moyes/BK see this season as the one where we have the best chance of breaking into the top 4 and are putting all of our eggs in that basket.
If we don't get there I'll bet that we sell a lot of the squad off in the summer and start again.
You're right that he's proven in the Premier League. He's proven himself to be average.
"While I don't subscribe to the personal vilification of Bill Kenwright that some do".
You then then accuse him of "empty promises" and using the present economic climate "as a smokescreen".
For the record, empty promises are 'lies' and a 'smokescreen' is used to deceive.
'Personal vilification'?
Well it HAS to be personal by it's very nature (ie: if we're talking about Bill, we don't refer to him as Desmond Tutu).
Vilification?
Posts on TW regarding BK (my own included) CAN be abusive certainly, but it's usually 'lying cunt' as opposed to just 'cunt' (there IS a difference)
Entirely valid in my view as it indicates clarity of thought/opinion and indicates genuine strength of feeling.
In other words it leaves the reader in NO doubt as to what the poster is thinking.
I'm entirely comfortable with the idea that anyone who tries to deceive me and/or lies to me, should (AND WILL!) be vilified.
With Yobo about to leave, and Jagielka gone to an England get together injured, things can change during a couple of games, and with two very competitive matches due against the two Uniteds within a week, I just feel that we are a little light in certain positions, no cover for Baines does not help. When certain players in the squad take knocks, they seem to be out for a eternity.
I really feel Moyes needs to get the right side of midfield sorted, three different players in three games does not help.
As I mentioned earlier the two games coming up will be very fast and physical, I am confident in our ability, I just hope lady luck is on our side injury-wise.
I have no quibble with the way you express your feelings towards BK. Quite entertaining, I might add.
My above post was not intended as a criticism of the way others express their opinion. I perhaps don't feel the need to express my opinion as strongly as you do; that's the best way I can put it.

I think most of us were prepared to accept losing a Yobo or Yakubu if, and only if, it meant a right winger or potent striker coming in. That hasn't happened and it looks like another piece of sleight of hand by the Everton Board of Directors. We now have three centre backs, one of whom is a quasi centre midfielder. That leaves us dangerously thin on the ground, a situation which would have been tolerable if other players had been added elsewhere in the squad.
It hasn't happened and you begin to wonder just how Bill Kenwright can possibly justify this utterly inadequate summer of transfer business at our club. If you can defend him now then you're a better fan than me.
