Is this a coincidence, Landon?

I know the whole Landon Donavon thing has been done to death on here but I just wanted to point out something I noticed on Deadline Day.
Mr Donovan has been proudly sporting the picture of his number '9 Donovan' shirt on his twitter profile ever since he left us; I notice today it has changed back to him in a Galaxy shirt.
It's no secret he wanted to join the Blues permanently... maybe he was secretly hoping Bill would dig deep into those empty pockets of his. Or maybe it's just a coincidence!
Either way, I hope he comes back on loan in January because we sure look exposed over on the right... Let's be honest: Rodwell is no winger!

I hope it is just a coincidence, that no 9 deal. But I guess that will depend on price tags come January. We all know, we ain't got a pot to piss in.
We might just have to accept that he isn't going to develop while sitting in the treatment room.
Then after that the league might be more reasonable in letting Donovan go. A Landon Donovan led LA Galaxy team (I'm pretty sure Beckham wouldn't be fit in time) with many US National team players past, present and future vs. a New York Redbulls team led by Thierry Henry, Rafa Marquez, and Juan Pablo Angel becomes a little sexier and easier for ESPN to hype.
It would be arguably a final between two of the best teams the league has ever produced. Certainly with the biggest names they've ever had and MLS is desperate to capitalize upon any positives from the US team's World Cup run.
But it's obviously dawned on them that the league needs a team or two for everyone else to "hate" and talk about in the media. And what better than NYC and LA?
Henry has already put an extra 5-6000 asses in seats at that beautiful new Red Bull facility.
Can't wait for 2020 when MLS is not just signing 32 year-old "Henrys". But signing 17-18 year-old Henry/Rooney/Messi, etc. That day rapidly approaches.
Anyway, the big thing is EFC has to get going now. We've outplayed 3 teams and come away with 1 point. That's a bitch. We keep on, the ball WILL start going over the goal line.
So come December, DM might not need Landon; certainly not on a loan when he has plenty of talent already. I'd add, Landon aint coming without a permanent deal.
There's no question of DM wanting LD and LD wanting to come. We'll see by Christmas. But another loan deal is a non-starter any way we look at it.
As for Anichebe, I thought he looked pretty good at times from the right side and he can slip forward too. But dear God is he ever not injured? He did have that shin injury, but there have been times where I wonder if he's one of those guys who refuses to play with the slightest niggle.
I'd give Coleman a go at right mid. He's tricky and can cross it. Hey Hibbert started out as a right mid then moved back, who says the reverse isn't possible?
That's a T-Shirt waiting to happen!
On the subject of Bily on the right, we all know he isn't a natural wide player (a winger) but with Coleman at right back there is the possibility of Coleman bombing down the wings overlaping with Bily giving the Russian the option of cutting inside.
At this moment in time good opposition teams would destroy that right hand side combination.
Judging by this link, kindly provided by Mike Gaynes, that would appear to be true.

It puts paid to the nonsense that James Flynn has been telling us all summer,i.e. that the decision would be Donovan's, and his alone.
Judging by his above post (#6), he seems to have changed his tune somewhat.

I realize, and accept, from your postings that the light illuminating the thought bubble over your head is a dim one, but WTF are you talking about with that post?

This from the person who thinks that 3 points for a win was introduced because of match fixing.
Reducing your argument to personal insults does you no favours at all.
The over riding conclusion was that the Galaxy wouldn't even consider it, because they have aspirations on winning their title and to suddenly loose him down would cause them some serious issues.
I find it a little odd, we could not negotiate a deal, that would have brought him here in January. I know its a long wait until then, because we need someone now. But one wonder's if in January we manage to sign him up?
Moyes seems to be rather stubborn on his 'I won't give up until we have have him and I won't look at anyone else.'
My question is more or less 'then why wait till the last day to try and lure him away?' ? that to me is shocking from our manager.
He was an icon well before this last world cup. Wasn't so long ago he was playing in Germany now was it?
What I believe to happened was that he wanted to go back to California. And a deal was done with the Galaxy to sign him up.
Since then, and more since he played for us last January and this last World Cup, the demand for him has increased his profile to the point where the Galaxy actually believe the hype. IMO no one but Americans, (some) care about the MLS.
The MLS for Donovan was a backward step in his career.
If it really is the MLS who are stopping this move, then it's retarded. The MLS would be better served by selling him than keeping him... the reason is simple one. It gives them advertising and puts the MLS back on the radar with European teams, more specifically the Premier League.
