Leicester City are interested in signing James McCarthy from Everton according to a report.
MailOnline claim that new Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare is looking to further strengthen his midfield following the arrival of Vicente Iborra from Sevilla and McCarthy's industry and tenacity could be what he is after.
McCarthy battled injuries last season and was at the centre of a club-versus-country war or words between Ronald Koeman and Republic of Ireland manager Martin O'Neill but faces significant competition in the Blues' midfield following the return to fitness of Muhamed Besic and the acquisition of Davy Klaassen from Ajax.
