Everton join chase for Las Palmas star

Everton could step in and usurp Swansea City and Newcastle United for winger Jonathan Vieira according to a report in Spain.

Las Palmas have reportedly knocked back an offer of €26m for the 27-year-old from the Swans, insisting that any suitor stump up the full €30m to activate his release clause.

Marca are reporting that the Blues have sounded out the Liga side over Vieira and indicated that would be prepared to meet their demands.

Swansea are believed to have identified Vieira as a potential replacement for Gylfi Sigurdsson so it's not clear whether this is brinkmanship on Everton's part to try and get a deal over the line for the Icelandic midfielder.
