Robles set to return to La Liga

Joel Robles could be on the verge of joining Deportivo la Coruà±a if a report in Spain is true.

The Spaniard is expected to leave Everton this summer following the signing of Jordan Pickford and Marca suggest that he will join Deportivo for a nominal fee after he rejected a new contract at Goodison Park.

Signed by Roberto Martinez from Atletico Madrid in 2013, Robles had to bide his time behind Tim Howard for three years before finally winning the first-choice goalkeeper's spot with the Blues.

However, the arrival of Martinez's successor, Ronald Koeman, together with Maarten Stekelenburg, saw him demoted to the bench again until the veteran Dutchman was injured in the middle of last season.

Robles kept his place when Stekelenburg returned to fitness but appeared to have lost Koeman's confidence by the end of the 2016-17 campaign following a period of iffy form.
