West Ham to win race for Evra

Everton look set to lose out on Patrice Evra to West Ham United, according to reports.

The former Manchester United left back is available for acquisition outside of the transfer window because he is a free agent following the termination of his contract at Marseille last November.

Evra was banned from European cup competition for assaulting a spectator during the warm-up for a Europa League fixture but he is eligible to play in the Premier League this season.

According to the likes of Sky Sports, Everton declared their interest in the French international but he is believed to prefer a move to London.
