Farhad Moshiri is preparing to increase his stake in the club by buying out director Jon Woods's remaining holdings that would take his ownership to almost 60%, according to The Times.

The Iranian-born businessman purchased a non-controlling 49.9% share of the Blues in February 2016 with the intention of later expanding his total of shares.

It emerged in June 2016 that Moshiri has options in place to to buy up both Woods's 8.9% stake and Bill Kenwright's 12.2% holding and it appears as though he will soon make that first move which would take his share tally to 58.8% of the club.

The report suggests that Keith Harris, a recent addition to the Board of Directors, could replace Woods as Deputy Chairman as the latter leaves the boardroom.
