Baines-to-LA story grows legs

The claim was originally made by the rag that shall not be named and spread to some of the shameless clickbait websites but has now been picked up by The Mirror.

The citation is still the eclipsed gutter paper (which has few, if any, ins with Everton at all these days) but they raise the suggestion that Everton would be prepared to let Baines go on a free and are actively scouting his replacement, although it's not clear if that is the contention of The Mirror or the original source.

Baines, 33, missed a chunk of the season just finished through injury and his position has needed fortifying for a while but there have been no indications to this point that he would be looking to leave the Blues after 11 years with the club.
