Everton weigh up move for promising Watford teen

| Saturday, 02 June 2018 16comments  |  Jump to last
Everton are eyeing a move for young striker Ryan Cassidy according to the Irish Mirror.

The 17-year-old Dubliner recently signed a professional deal at Watford but Marco Silva might have seen enough of him in his short time with the Hornets to have recommended that the Blues try and lure him into their Under-23s setup under David Unsworth.

Cassidy scored 17 times in 25 games at youth level for the Hornets and was recently named in Ireland's U17s squad for the European Championships last month.

I'm sure they'll happily sell him to us...

It sounds a bit like knocking the bloke next door's missus off then going round and asking for your kids ball back.

Swap deal for Ashley Williams.

Ian, Watford WILL feel totally ripped off regarding THAT deal!

Brilliant, Len. Made me laugh, that.

Yeah, right. There was a report that we inquired about Richarlison and Watford basically reacted like Pee-Wee Herman, when Francis tries to buy his bike in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.

"I wouldn't sell my bike to you for all the money in the world! Not a hundred million, TRILLION dollars!"

Watford wouldn't even sell us the Ebola virus right now.

Watford despise us at the moment and won't be selling their young talent to us.

More chance of signing Butch Cassidy than this kid.

Business is business and Watford will deal at the right price. Everton have brought in young strikers before and most have never stepped up to the next level.

Buyer beware — if they are really interested.

Everton need to concentrate on players that will start in the first team. That must be our priority especially now when we have no players worth big money in the transfer market on our books.

Folks, a Watford FC fan here. Firstly, not all of us fans hate your club, in fact the majority of us have a liking for your fans. It's just the way last season turned out wasn't the best for us, and in the end for yourselves.

Anyway, as for this article, this is just a bit of lazy journalism. The lad Cassidy is doing well but will not be going anywhere, the fact that he is Irish and Silva is now in charge is just a case of putting two and two together.

I can't see us selling anyone to you in the immediate future, but I hope the bad feelings between boardrooms doesn't lend its way to the fans.

All the best for next season. The one criticism I always had of Silva: he likes zonal marking at set pieces and that doesn't work.

Offer them Onyerkuru in part-ex.

Len (#2),

I'm glad I don't live next door to you!

I wouldn't be surprised if Watford stopped running out to Z-Cars next season.

Watford supposedly have said they won't do business with Everton at all, no surprise there then. And let's hope we don't get a multitude of Under-23s being bought. It's established players we want if we are to challenge for anything.

Sorting out Koeman's mess will take time, he wrecked the club.
