Sevilla abandon plans to sign Sandro

Sandro Ramirez's hopes of making his loan move to Sevilla permanent look to have been dashed by the Spanish club's decision not to pursue a deal to sign him from Everton.

The 22-year-old, a £5.2m signing from Malaga last summer, felt he had found a route out of his Goodison Park nightmare when he secured a temporary move back to La Liga with Sevilla in January.

He made 18 appearances in all competitions for Los Rojiblancos registering just one assist and no goals but there was still a chance the Spanish side might have been prepared to sign him this summer.

Local newspaper, Estadio Deportivo, claim, however, that there is little prospect of that now. According to their report, sporting director Joaquàn Caparrà³s and new head coach Pablo Machàn have discussed Sandro in recent days and concluded that he does not fit into their plans going forward.

Unless he is prepared to drop his current wages, believed to be between £100,000 and £120,000 a week at Goodison Park, the former Barcelona man would not come cheap for potential suitors.

Although he insisted he didn't want to return to Everton, his best bet may now be to try and impress the new management team of Marcel Brands and Marco Silva to see if he can be a success in the Premier League after all.

Sando played 15 times for the Blues last season, scoring his solitary goal in the 5-1 home defeat to Atalanta in November.
