Everton U21s 2 - 1 Monaco U21s

Everton U21s pulled off an excellent win over Monaco U21s at Goodison Park in the Premier League International Cup on Friday night, the second fine comeback win in the space of 5 days after they beat PSV Eindhoven on Monday.

The lesser spotted Harry Tyrer makes a rare appearance in goal for Everton, possibly his first this season; he did not go out on loan.

The Young Blues pulled back level in added time before the break after going behind 10 minutes earlier, Will Tamen getting the goal off a great strike from just inside the area through a couple of defenders to make it 1 - 1 at half-time.

It looked like it would end up that way but George Morgan came off the bench with 2 minutes left and he was there at the far post to nod down a great chipped cross from an earlier sub, Shea Pita, and it bounced into the roof of the Monaco net, a super winner!

Everton U21s:  Tyrer, Davis, van Schoor, Tamen, Thomas, Foster (64' Ebere), Boakye (74' Akarakiri), Bates, Benjamin (74' Pita), Olayiwola (88' Morgan), Graham.

Subs: G Pickford, Loney.

Michael, do Everton U18s play Reading U18s in the FA Youth Cup tonight, Friday 18 December?

If it is, are Everton showing it on their stream?

Try and watch Accrington Stanley at Cambridge tonight, Dave, to see how Isaac Heath is developing.

Ooo, thanks for the reminder, Dave.

This Euro encounter is on tonight, so get that iPad going... unless your commitment to Brexit means no Euro footy for you!

I don't think the kids play in The FA Youth Cup 4th Round until the New Year.... and it looks like they've been drawn at home to West Ham Utd on 24 January -- mark your colander.

Reading are playing them other 'Blues'... Chelsea.

Well, that was a great win for our U21s -- who says the Academy is rubbish!

They stand a decent chance now of moving forward from Group A with the last match against RB Leipzig at Goodison Park on Tuesday, 20 January 2026.
