I was born in Liverpool in 1940, supported Everton since about 1953, and emigrated to Canada in 1976. I’ve been back on numerous occasions, the last time was in 2023-24.
I have had no problem visiting the UK before but I am now being told that I now have to send for a permit to visit the UK as I was a previous resident holding a British Passport. The reason I obtained a Canadian Passport was I was always stopped at the US border who wanted to know why British Passport holders were entering the USA through Canada.
Now I am getting told that, to enter the UK as a previous citizen, I need a permit or passport to enter. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem or if they intend to return to visit family or friends or watch Everton at their new ground?
