A lively forward with Everton U21s, Coby Ebere has signed a new 2-year contract with the club that runs through the end of June 2027.
The 19-year-old attacker has been with the Blues’ Academy since the age of 11, making his first appearances in the U18s side in 2020-21 and scoring his first goal for them in a pre-season friendly against Bolton Wanderers. But he had a difficult second season, with an injury that kept him out for 6 months.
He had a great first half of the season in 2022-23, scoring 9 goals in 23 appearances, but a serious hamstring injury again kept him out of action until half-way through the 2023-24 season.
When he returned, he racked up a stunning 12 goals in 12 games before another injury problem cut short his season and he missed the first half of last season.
He wasn’t as prolific when he moved up to the U21s last season, scoring only once in a handful of games before another injury forced him to the sidelines.
Ebere, who was born in Germany and is also eligible to represent England and Nigeria, had a challenging 2024/25, missing the first half of the Premier League 2 season with a hamstring injury before making his return to Paul Tait’s squad in January and netting his first goal of the season against Cardiff City the following month.
He did make it onto the substitutes bench for Everton’s Premier League game at Crystal Palace last February.
Now, with his new contract signed, is looking to kick on for the Under-21s this term.
