Rumours suggest that Everton have already made a decision to offer Idrissa Gana Gueye a contract extension of 1 more year with the club.
The Senegalese international has had a very impressive season at Everton considering his age and the incredible toll each game must take on him physically. He will be 36 in September but his tackling and covering are as good as ever.
The only reservation remains with his penchant for taking a potshot at goal, when there should be better options available; his success rate is limited and he is yet to score this season, despite making at least one attempt in each game.
Last season was slightly better in that he did score 3 goals, including memorable strikes at home to Nottingham Forest and then Brentford toward the end of the season. The only games he has missed were around the death of his father back in September.
