Les Helm, Everton’s physio for over a decade over the course of the 1990s and into the 2000s, has passed away at the age of 87.
The Bootle native joined the club in 1990 following roles at Shrewsbury and Tranmere.
He was regarded by Blues legend Neville Southall as “one of the best physios in the business” who “always puts the players’ interests first.”
As the Club recognise on evertonfc.com, Les was responsible for Everton becoming the first Premier League club to introduce a heart-screening programme for all playing staff, after the tragic passing of academy player John Marshall, an initiative that all top flight football clubs then followed.
