Everton U21s played out a score draw at Boreham Wood in the National League Cup on Wednesday night, winning the penalty shootout 4 – 2.

The home side equalized only in the 89th minute through a late penalty after the Young Blues had taken the lead 16 minutes earlier through Omari Benjamin (73′). And it was Benjamin who set the Blues on their way to earning the extra point after he took the first spot kick, with Loney, Gardner and Carrington following his lead from 12 yards after Harvey Foster saw the second Everton penalty hit the bar.
