Show Me The Money.
Heres a question: If most of clubs being linked with big money buy-outs actually do sell up ? which they will ? then the likes of Manchester City, Blackburn and Birmingham will join all the other clubs who can spend big and pay big salaries. Where does that leave us? Does any one really believe Arteta and the other quality players we have in our squad will stick around at Everton on Championship wages while thier fellow pros pick up £80,000 plus a week elsewhere? I don't.
There is no way Everton can match even a small club like West Ham for spending power now that the Icelandic Alf Garnett has hit town. The millions he has made selling Jammy Dodgers to the Eskimoes far out-weighs the money Bungalow Bill gets from filling the local Playhouse. If we don't get Bill out and someone in with financial clout then we are well and truely fooked. We need to get with the programme, people.
John Moores knew he was out of his depth at Liverpool and he is hardly skint is he? The mighty Arsenal are looking to cash their chips in as well and David Dein has had to face the harsh realities of the premier League. No Dough, No Go.
Kenwright 10 years ago was one of those novelty chairman we used to see a lot of back in the day. They take over the club they supported as a kid and all their dreams come true. Kenwright is a Doug Ellis without the cash or a Peter Swales with a better hair do. That's all he is. In today's game where the Dollar or the Rouble is God, Kenwright doesn't stand a chance. He is like like a mouse trapped in a Tiger's cage or a Goldfish in a tank full of pirhana. Dead meat. Still, that won't worry some fans who are oblivious to what's happening all around them. "At least Moyes is a better manager than Smith," they will say.
Why are some still posting that crap? To me comparing those two is like comparing Rod Hull and Emu against Kieth Harris and Orville: Both pretty crap but still got on telly and made a living from the game. Next time, try comparing Catterick v Kendall; at least they both won something at the club. What did Moyes or Smith ever win?
The removal of the deadwood is starting to annoy me as well. Fans calling for the return of Killbane and the retaining of Beattie are just the type I am on about. Clueless cannon fodder for Bill. Why bring Killer back a year older when the younger version was terrible? As for swapping Beattie for Jason Roberts, I would swap Beattie for Jason Donovan if I could. At least Donavan score occasionally.
No, it's as plain as the giant nose on Phil Thompson's face. Kenwright has to go and very soon. The big 4 are already a million miles away so what happens to us once the second tier of the Premier League over take us as well? I dread to think... It's time to put up or shut up, Bill. A skint chairman these days ain't worth a part in one of your soppy plays. Please, Bill, show us the money or slam the door behind you on your way out, mate.

Richard Dodd - "Gratitude,brother Evertonians,gratitude, please!"

I don?t subscribe to your often expressed view that Everton fans that have a different perspective on the club affairs to your own are blind, sycophantic, easily-pleased fools. The Toffeeweb mailbag clearly demonstrates more lucid critical thinking than that, rather than the barely concealed hatred of nearly all things Blue you often offer.
In answer to your first question, it is not a given that:
? all or indeed any of the clubs currently linked with big money buy-outs will actually be bought
? that they will have considerable sums spend on player purchases and bigger salaries
? that any or all of these clubs will benefit from the presumed investment
? that our quality players will leave to follow the lucre
Secondly, there is absolutely NOTHING we can do as supporters to ?get Bill out? and replace him with ?someone with financial clout?. Rant, boo, jeer, insult him on match day if you will, but that ain?t gonna shift him from the boardroom. It will only be BK?s choosing as to when ? IF!! ? he steps down.
And just what do you mean Tony by ?get with the programme, people?? Whilst buying into Premier League clubs seems to be flavour of the month at the moment, mainly because of the huge windfall from TV money, just what are those investors buying into and why? Just yesterday I saw Alan Sugar comparing the current craze for English football to the dotcom boom of a few years ago when venture capitalists poured money into Internet start-ups with no product, no business plan and BILLIONS of pounds went down the tube when they flopped. This is the same Alan Sugar who just recently sold his own £20 million stake in Spurs, who is a wily wheeler-dealer and who is totally bemused as to how investors are going to get any returns on their monies from football.
Given the above, maybe ? just maybe ? Everton FC is right NOT to run with the herd at the moment. Whatever you might think of the current management, we are doing OK on the core industry of the club ? playing football; the CEO has improved the club?s income streams; we have the prospect of moving to a new stadium (a whole different debate, I know?) and from the outside, there seems to be as much unity between the management key figures as there is amongst the playing staff.
No Tony. Things are not as black and white as you consistently wish to portray them.
Oh! And surely there must be some Lancet study that carries a health warning about the overuse of analogies in a single article???

Typical Tony at work, arrogantly putting words into other evertonian mouths.
And ranting over speculation, conjecture and innuendo.
Baseless transfer rumours of kilbane etc are hardly worth getting het up about ’yet’ but never one to let an opportunity go, eh Tony.
Your hardly giving us an insight by telling us if we dont pay arteta et al what other clubs will, they’ll consider other options.
Everybody knows there is a new influx of cash, and wages are about to go up another increment for most players.
The board will of course realise this, despite what you may think they are not completely incompotent businessmen.
And if someone like arteta leaves because we didnt pay enough, then the board should be held accountable by us fans.
But unless I missed a memo, none of this has happened yet, and if areteta gets a better offer, I expect the board to match it(even if you dont)unless it is a completely ridiculous figure.
Even if we had Man u’s money real madrid or someone else could always make a ridiculous offer we couldnt do anything about.
Its the way of things right now, no matter what, no matter who you are, there will always be a risk someone out there could make a ridiculous offer to your better players.
But 99% of things you rant about or tell us will happen;
no chance of europe....it all turn to shite......moyesie will cock it up....arteta will leave because of style of football...vic & vaughen will never get a game, they’ll be sold to championship sides.....blahblah etc
just never materialise mate.
Take the hint.

Nice reply mate but you only serve to strengthen my resolve on this issue of finance.
Go in to denial all you like but the facts are there for all to see. Buy outs are gathering pace
Oh and by the way John I do happen to think Wyness and Kenwright are useless buisnessmen.
Wyness has stripped the club to the bare bones and Kenwrights watched him do it.We own nothing any more and dont make a penny from anything we sell to our own fans.
Drinks, pies, Shirts etc Wyness out sourced the lot.He makes a nice drink from it though.

If no investment comes into the club to buy quality players i agree the likes of Arteta, Cahill, Lescott and Johnson will leave, leaving us with a team of Championship players at best.
Can anyone tell me why it is we can’t find an investor?
With all Blue Bills contact throughout the world of media and business surely it should be a bit easier for him than most.
