Lets get behind Andy VDM

Sods law scripted a cruel twist and now he's facing a layoff due to a hamstring injury that I guess could put him out of contention for 4-8 weeks?
And whilst that's genuinely unfortunate, I do feel that we, as the fan-base have the ability to influence his recovery to some extent.
It's just possible that a concerted effort of support, through web sites and any other means possible, for the player through this lay-off could help him maintain focus. After all, it's the final year of his contract and, amazingly, he seems to have passed the bar (and I'm not referring to legal term) during pre-season this year... according to the reports so far, anyway.
The guy's natural talent is clearly not in doubt. We all, as passionate fans, have nothing to lose by spending a bit of our time letting the guy know that despite all the crap he's served up to date, we are behind him as much as any other member of our team.
Why don't we all give the poor bugger a boost whilst the squad are in the US? I'd rather he was reading postiive stuff on these sites (any other suggestions of decent mediums would be welcome) at home than larging it on the town, 'getting spiked' in a bar and ensuring he will continue to let himself down as he has done throughout his contract to date.
If it has no effect we've wasted a few minutes each — but if for any reason he manages to stay ON the tracks during his recovery we will adding desperately needed substance to his pricetag if nothing else. And most likely we will have an extra option in the first team that can undoubtedly provide an extra dimension to our side, not to mention our lack of midfielders at present.
Am I away with the fairies or should we give this a real crack?
