Odd line up, but I suppose it’s all we’ve got available.

Is Nev going to play right wing then? Or Cahill maybe?

Simon Dunne
4 Posted 30/07/2009 at 02:31:32

here we go.. morning all..

Simon Dunne

All white kit? Guess we know what the 3rd kit looks like now then

Will Leaf
12 Posted 30/07/2009 at 02:52:26

No Lloyd, that is the black/pink kit after one wash...

Sean Patton
13 Posted 30/07/2009 at 02:52:32

Another insomniac signing in. Hopefully young Wallace can get off the bench as he has looked good against both Bury and Rochdale

Simon Dunne
14 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:01:13

4/1 on the draw on betfair wasnt bad..

Will Leaf
15 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:00:51

Osman operating quite well out there on the left...some good passing

Will Leaf
16 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:03:30

That’s the way! 1-0

Sean Patton
17 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:05:12

King Louis the ginger prince

Rob Skeldon
18 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:03:55

moving it around pretty well. look comfortable. saha just gifted a goal by a kid who looks like he would be more comfortable as the 5th member of n sync

Sean Patton
19 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:10:24

Rob

I know this exposes my embarrasing knowledge of boy bands but wasnt there 5 members of ny sync already.

Rob Skeldon
20 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:15:21

yeh i think youre right maybe i was thinking of backstreet boys. to avoid getting into a boyband discussion......... yobo looks in total control tonite. hes dominating thier front players. def bodes well with jags out and city sniffing round lescott

Will Leaf
21 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:18:48

Yobo lost his man there

Rob Skeldon
22 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:18:36

Wow I look a mug now, I swear my feed went down whilst they scored.

Paul Walsh
23 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:25:12

No line ups lads? This is looking a far inferior service to the one Nick Marsh gave the other night ;)

Chris Jones
24 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:28:35

Can’t get the live feed or find a text commentary. Any chance of a few more details about what’s happening, please?

Alex Kociuba
25 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:30:22

I posted this earlier:

http://www.atdhe.net/7215/watch-espn

still works fine.

Fantastic save by Howard

Will Leaf
26 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:27:57

Hope we start accounting for these opposition players in our penalty box by season start

Tom Lazarus
27 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:30:49

Timmy!

Alex Kociuba
28 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:31:05

Howard
Baines Yobo Lescott Baines
Cahill Fellaini Rodwell Osman Neville
Saha

Will Leaf
29 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:31:10

Osman and Cahill have switched flanks in midfield

Class save from Howard there...free header to the MLS

Will Leaf
30 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:33:37

Another excellent save by Howard...shot from distance

Will Leaf
31 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:34:21

Disastrous chip into the box with numbers there by Rodwell...well overhit

Overall Rods perfoming reasonably well anchoring midfield

Alex Kociuba
32 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:33:52

Lescott close to a spectacular own goal

Tom Lazarus
33 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:35:07

MLS is looking better. I suppose it takes a while to get on the same page when you’ve never played together...

Will Leaf
34 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:36:39

MLS dominating possession the last 10 odd mins

Paul Walsh
35 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:37:12

Nice one Alex but you’ve got Bainesy down there twice . Guess you mean Hibbo. Easy mistake that mate.

Sean Patton
36 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:40:02

Saha is a little isolated up front we need to support him quicker. It is difficult to make a judgement on one half of a friendly game but there is more evidence that Cahill and Fellaini cannot play together in the same team unless one of them is a striker

Aidy Dews
37 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:37:31

Well if you ask me we've been garbage. People on here who say we don't need a holding midfield player because weve got Neville and Rodwell to play there are seriously wrong, they've been shite the pair of em, giving ball away all the time and just generally playing shit.

Hibbert as shown why Moyesy is looking for a new full back, utter shite!, we seriously need some new quality players on board before the season starts, were not going to do a repeat of last season with the current squad, we will seriously struggle big time in my opinion if we dont get in the correct quality of player in this summer!.

Will Leaf
38 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:43:59

Be nice to have to Bainesy’s! One on each flank

Mike Coates
39 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:42:21

We looked (as usual) great in first 10 mins.

Then just struggling to get it to anyone.

Lescott should have headed back to Howard like Jags usually does. Instead heading to the left, made if difficult for Baines against Casey and from there on, the ball just passed in and past Howard.

Still, we can win this!

Mike Oates
40 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:41:44

Had a bright opening 15 minutes, in total control without making an opening but gifted onto a poor back pass and Saha finished well.

Since then we have been fortunate that we havent conceded 3-4 goals. Poor in midfield, Fellaini lost , Rodwell being given the run around by Ljunberg and Neville nowhere to be seen.

Yobo and Lescott not working together at all , and other than Howard who has kept us in it believe it or not best players are Osman, Hibbert, Saha.

No creativity at all and Baines very quiet going forward.

Saegaran Kanalanadan
41 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:44:06

Players who look a bit off...Baines, Rodwell. i thought Osman did quite well on LM. Defence looks shakey. Good goal by Saha and looks fit.

Will Leaf
42 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:53:51

Howard and Ossie our best players so far.

Hibbo a few wayward passes late on after a very solid start

Lescott probably trying not to get injured

Yobo very solid so far, though bears some fault for the goal. Did not account for the man closing in behind him.

Baines not doing too much. Missing Peanuts most likely.

Rods as above. A few very poor passes; fair to middling day at the office.

Fellaini with some incisive passing early on. Has faded, perhaps wilting under his barnet in the heat.

Pip anonymous.

Cahill also a bit anonymous.

Saha as above, increasingly isolated as game has worn on. Has a world class shot on him. Looks ready for the season.

Will Leaf
43 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:57:38

Slapstick pub defending from the defence there. Expected the pies to start flying.

Rich Williams
44 Posted 30/07/2009 at 03:59:36

Did I miss something? Where is Pienaar?

Will Leaf
45 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:04:22

Jo warming up...on for the Big Fella

Pienaar not available for whatever reason. Hope just a knock in training

Will Leaf
46 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:06:00

Freekick on the right flank, very nice ball from Ossie. Last ditch header from MLS at far post with Yobo looming

Will Leaf
47 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:11:56

Keller back on for MLS after his replacement injured himself. Moyes having a good laugh, sportingly letting the subbed goalie return.

Will Leaf
48 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:16:26

Saha getting stuck in...not sure if that is a good idea

Will Leaf
49 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:18:05

Not sure about this American commentator...says we need another striker and a left back!

Simon Kirwan
50 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:23:26

Still 1-1? Internet messing up big time.. What minute we on?

Sean Patton
51 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:22:53

Penalty shoot out if it is level lets play for them

Will Leaf
52 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:24:29

74 game in a real lull

penalties if even at 90 mins

Mike Oates
53 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:24:46

Saha having to cover in the midfield and back 4 !!!!!!

Will Leaf
54 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:25:19

Donovan missed a totla sitter with only Howard to beat at point blank range off the left post.

Sean Patton
55 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:26:35

It does seem odd that Jo and Saha are both on the pitch put not playing up front together

Will Leaf
56 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:29:10

Wallace on...must have missed that. For Cahill I think...

Will Leaf
57 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:30:01

Very nice work from Wallace...engineered a chance there, cross from Hibbo to Jo...headed back across 6 yard box

Will Leaf
58 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:32:19

Baines with an excellent free kick from left flank. Jo just over with a stooping header

Will Leaf
59 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:33:23

Baxter off the line with Howard beaten

Mike Oates
60 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:25:41

We are very sloppy,poor 1st touches,poor communication,but defensively better

Saegaran Kanalanadan
61 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:36:46

Wonder why Pienaar in not playing?

Will Leaf
62 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:37:24

Baxter is doing very well in RMid (on for Ossie I think) Very creative so far

Saegaran Kanalanadan
63 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:37:54

Howard is my MOTM.

Will Leaf
64 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:39:22

Game saving save from Howard ...header at point blank range. Lescott not interested in the chance

Will Leaf
65 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:44:14

Fancy Howard to win us this penalty shootout

Simon Dunne
66 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:45:05

howard clearly MOTM... not good performance at all.. midfield looked gick and Jo couldnt hold his breath never mind the ball..

poor.. baxter looks tidy.. rodwell shoulda gone in fairness

Sean Patton
67 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:37:59

And the 4/1 shot comes in. The 100% record for the all stars comes to an end. Who is going to take the fifth penalty now Jags is out

Saegaran Kanalanadan
68 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:42:48

Ljundberg doing his best Berbatov there with the floopy miss

Saegaran Kanalanadan
105 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:57:55

MLS stars finally beaten although over penalties.

Mike Oates
106 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:36:53

WON 4 : 3 ON PENALTIES, after 6 each.

Howard brilliant all night , our best player by a country mile.

Vaughan & Jo missed, Baines, Neville, Rodwell and Lescott scored.

Howard made 3 fantastic saves in penalties and about 6 in the game itself.

Will Leaf
107 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:01:15

Everton generally very poor after the first 30 mins. No injuries though!

Saegaran Kanalanadan
108 Posted 30/07/2009 at 04:59:02

Wow... that's a big trophy!!!

Will Leaf
109 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:02:34

Goof Lord...the trophy looks like the old Fair’s Cup...it’s huge

Saegaran Kanalanadan
110 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:04:26

We look good in the white kit too...

Chris Jones
111 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:10:59

Thanks to all who provided updates. Tried those links and all I got was a still-shot. When I clicked on the play arrow, bugger-all happened except a little rotating wheel effect. Serves me right for trying to watch the game on a work computer probably.

Mike Coates
112 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:15:05

Great to have another trophy ;)

Looks like to win penalties, we must bizarrely sky the first ball.

Vaughan in Cahill stylez! ;)

HOWARD MVP!! Great game to watch.

Glad to take the day off work.. lol

Barrry Gorst
113 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:18:54

There’s one trophy in the bag. Lets fill the rest cabinet with hardware this year.

Mike Coates
114 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:20:35

Oh, on a lesser note.

Baines is a class player but runs central too often, leaving a great gap exposed for their right winger. Gotta learn to close that!

The all white uniforms look tops!!

Rory Slingo
115 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:32:34

’ol Phil’s getting good at those penalty kicks, eh?

Martin Cutler
116 Posted 30/07/2009 at 05:59:25

It’s pre-season, we won, Howard was brilliant, be happy! I am!
