The Adidas deal with Stoke was also done on the proviso that they ditch their famous Red and White stripes and go with a totally red back — which has not gone down too well with the fans. In this modern day you have to sell your soul somewhere and personally I'd rather that be the make than the design.

Oh, and pink... surely not???

Having been to Everton Two and bought some products, I have to disagree about the quality. Last season's Umbro shorts look like new but my LQS shorts look shabby.

Brand is everything in this plastic world and we should have a brand that is Premier League rather than Championship.

I agree totally that, as long as the home kit it Royal blue, that's all that matters. Love to see the amber away kit but if it's pink — we will knock in a few goals whilst the opposition laugh... all a tactic!!

I live in the Midlands and get really pissed off that I see Chelsea wear the new kit at the Cup Final, and have posters of them modelling the new stuff in the front window of my local sports store!

I get bored with the traditional amber away every season but agree we should periodically go back to it and this season would probably be about time.

Personally, I always like to refer to the kits as first choice and change. I don't like the very recent tendency to call kits home and away. I have to say (at the risk of being called an anorak) that I don't like it when I see teams playing in their change kit when there is no colour clash. Why on earth have Arsenal often played in yellow/blue at Goodison??

I must confess initially I was horrified at the black/pink kit that was unveiled last summer. However, once the season started, I got used to it. Of our recent kits, I think the 2003-04 were very poor, both first choice and change kits. I do buy the shirts — but as they are often cheaper in price early on in the new year, I usually bide my time. I bought the 2008-09 shirt for approx £13 and the 2009-20 shirt for around £20 at the shop before the Birmingham City Cup tie.

Hopefully the new kits will be worth the wait. If it's any consolation, whilst watching the Cup Final on Saturday, I heard one of the commentators mention that the red around the neck of the new Chelsea shirt has not gone down well with the fans. Nice to know that it's not just Everton that get's it wrong re kits!!!

Can anyone remember a couple of years ago, we wore a white kit in our last away match, I think there was light blue around the neck of the shirt and on the side. It didn't go down well with the fans — one or two felt it looked more like a Man City change kit than an Everton one. I don't recall seeing it again — so somebody must have listened, which gives one a bit of hope!!!

I am not really into the "squad" numbers culture that has been with us since 1993. However, one area where I think the modern kits are better than the old ones — these days, most clubs have their club crests/badges on the shirt. I have liked seeing the Everton crest on our shirts and I think the updating of this to include the year 1878 has been a good design. So there are some modern innovations in football kit design that are improvements in my opinion.

Any views on favourite and least favourite Everton kits? My favourite would be between the 1993-95 first choice kit and the 1st "Chang" kit. I think I liked that "Chang" kit because the 2003-04 kits had been a bit tacky in my opinion!!. Least favourite well pushing the 03-04 kits would be the 1st "One to One" effort. The design of the shirt was okay.... just a small detail like the shade of blue being too light!!!

I would agree with those who say changing every year is too often; however, with all the clubs doing it I suppose there would be those Evertonians who would criticise the club if we passed up such commercial opportunities!!!

Personally, I nearly always wait until half way through the season or towards the end of the season, when the shirt will be selling at a reduced price. I am sure there will be those who bought Everton kits for Christmas presents only to find a few weeks later the same kits at 50% off the original price.

To be fair to Everton, that's something that seems to be the way of the world these days. For instance buy the DVD that's at the top of film charts when it first comes out and you will be paying well over around £12 - £15- wait a few months and the same DVD will be £5 at Tesco etc.

My all time least favourite kit or the one that would get the "Naffest Kit " of all time — Coventry City's all brown kit from 1979-80. Anything worse than that must be really naff!!!

The thing I hate to see is Everton playing in all blue, which makes them look like Chelsea. I notice that if Manchester United can't wear white shorts with their red shirts then they switch to black instead, which seems a good idea to me.

I like the idea of a salmon pink kit/shirt of some sort for a change kit for next season. It would be good in some way to commemorate some of Everton's past glories — first title win referred to above. I was rather disappointed that we didn't do much, or didn't seem to do much in 2006, the 100th anniversary of our first FA Cup Final win. After all we sing "If you know your history" — it would be good if the club reflected some historical aspect in some of the kit designs when such anniversaries occur.

Our traditional change kit, prior to the introduction of the classic amber shirts in the '60s, was white shirts & black shorts & at one time we played in an all black first kit, albeit with a pink sash, earning the nickname "The Blackwatch" — so black is also one of our traditional colours — "... if you know your history" ;-)
