Sports memorabilia

There's a shopping centre beside where I live here in Dublin. One of the shops sells sports memorabilia. It's mostly signed photos and jerseys in picture frames. There's two Everton pieces that I can remember. I can't remember exactly what but one is a picture of the famous team from the mid eighties. There's two or three players, including Neville Southall, parading a trophy around Wembley. There are a couple of signatures on it as well.

The thing that I definitely remember about it is that it was priced at €250. Even if I had the cash, this isn't really my thing. I'm not really a memorabilia type fan. I have an Everton mug that's years old, and a two-year-old jersey that I mostly wear in the gym. I'm just wondering what people think about the whole signed memoribilia thing and what kind of money they would be prepared to pay for it.

Never really got the fascination with signed memorabilia myself so I wouldn't pay crazy money for a signed jersey or that kind of thing... Can be good presents though so probably part of the reason behind the prices is that there seems to be a good market for that kind of thing.

Myself and my brother-in-law where at a memorabillia auction to raise money for a departed friends family, no EFC merchandise but we bought a signed Shite jersey and had the ritual burning of it outside in front of all the shite supporters!! Classic! The look on their faces was priceless!!

Massively, massively over-priced in the memorabilia shops.
Usually about ten times the real value.
The frames are worth more than the contents.

I got a shirt signed shirt framed recently and paid AUD $450.

I'd imagine the total value of the item is probably less than AUD $500.

Nice for indoctrinating the kids and if I had the space I'd like a few pictures and frames and stuff... but it's not viable or valuable.
