I reckon Seamus should be tried IN FRONT of Hibbert or Neville as a Landon Donovan type as he could well fulfill the gap we have on the wide left since Landon went back to the USA.

We still would have Anichebe if things were not going well as an alternative.
Hows about Howard; Neville, Jags, Heitinga and Baines; with Coleman, Fellaini, Arteta and Pienaar; Osman/Cahill and either Yak or Saha up front? I think this would work plus our bench would have any of the following; Mucha, Cahill, Yak, Anichebe, Bily, Rodwell, Hibbert, Yobo, Distin and Gosling.

By the way, is anybody else worried about our club captain's form this season? He was never a Cafu or a Gary Stevens, but before his injury early last season he was a solid and dependable player and motivator. Since he's returned from injury he looks a shadow of his former self. I was at the Fulham game at Goodison and he really looked out of his depth. Jags was ruling the roost at the back, not Pip.

Getting back to Coleman, I can see Moyes's plan being if the opposition is weak down the left side, send in the Sligo Speedster. (I claim patent on that by the way!) If we need to keep their left winger quiet, Hibbo's yer man. If injuries happen — we're screwed! ;-)

In conclusion, I'd be phasing out Phil Neville this season (and I'll stick my head out and say he'll be gone in January), keep Hibbo with Jags as back-up RB, let Coleman play the first half of the season at Blackpool and get him back (injuries permitting) for the New Year when we'll hopefully be pushing for a European place... preferably with Moutinho and Petrov in the side, as well as Pienaar and Arteta. :)

Our squad is thin! Enough with players playing out of position all the time. Keep him here!

Coleman will learn a lot faster playing every game for Blackpool than making occasional cameo appearances for us. And he needs to make his mistakes... better that he makes them at Blackpool. We saw last season what an early-season leaky defense can cost us. And if Alex is right and Pip's time is running out, then you bring Coleman back at midseason.

But what do I know?

I am sure Moyes will have his own ideas on what position is the lad's best, and the experience at Blackpool will have done him no harm. I look forward to see if the lad grabs a place next season. He has the talent, just needs the coaches to do the business.

But when Prem clubs start hitting them with 100 mph end-to-end counter attacks, it is going to make life very difficult for the full backs and pretty near impossible to learn any proper positional play or defensive skills; he is constantly going to be sprinting up and down the field following the ball.

I just can't see Moyes giving him a go unless he gets Premier League experience and the quickest way that's likely to happen is to loan him to Blackpool, though they possibly wouldn't want a right back who comes with a return clause.

I would prefer him to stay on loan and gain some more valuable experience because as many have said he will benefit more by playing a full season with Blackpool than a dozen sub appearances with us.

He was skinned by Chopra yesterday for Cardiff's 2nd goal. I'd rather he was back with us next season learning the Hibbert way of defending to go along with his attacking prowess.
