With silly money being paid for average players how much would we expect in total for our best players?
Would it be enough to start building a stadium of our own in the city?
Any success our current squad might bring would be short lived if our best are filched away by better resourced clubs.
Would it be better to defer immediate glory for the long term benefit of the club?

I mean if Lescott went for 22 mill, how come the papers report Arteta at 15 mill, or Jags at a similar price? They shoud be 35~40 mill players in comparison.

Dear David Moyes,
Thanks for your hard work the past 8 years. Were selling off the first team to buy a stadium in the City. We will probably get relegated and never recover, but its worth a try as we know you have worked in the lower leagues and can always find a bargain from a pub team'.

Our goal should be to continue to build the platform of solid top 6 accomplishments (mostly at least, notwithstanding last season' s injury laden debacle) and with City and Spurs and Villa break the CL driven cartel up once and for all.
If we end up with a "super 8" rotating through the top four places each season, that's some (limited) progress. If City with the PL first, with all that money, so be it, but I would still not trade places with them.
We need to be there or thereabouts and establishing ourselves longer term as a club to talk about, and one of integrity and decent values. I think that still means something and thank god we have Moyes - consider some of the alternatives: Hughes; O'Neill, Redknapp.
I would rather share the JJB with Wigan or Prenton Park with Tranmere than sell our best players to fund a shiny new folly of a stadium to be graced by lower quality players ...

I would love to see rules applied to the prem that would level the playing field , similar to those applied for this coming season, that will shit the rich fuckers up.
Actually i think it's happening already.
