Disgusting Match of the Day

We've seen it time and time again on MotD, credit not being given to us, but I thought they surpassed themselves tonight.
The coverage of the game was a joke, I can think of at least 4 good chances they didn't show, two in particular from Beckford and then Yak late on. They were unlucky not to be 3 or 4 down at the break.
No mention either of how Neville completely nullified the pundits' new 'wonderkid' Gareth Bale, for the second time this season I might add, Bale was as quiet as I've seen him.
The only thing the arse wipes at the BBC could think was that obviously Spurs must have been at fault for us to win so they decided to focus on Assou-Ekotto and how his poor defending let Coleman in. Rubbish. Why not give Coleman the credit he deserves, he took the guy to school.
Final nail was that kopite Hansen saying Spurs had the better of the first half... I was bubbling with rage. Watching the highlights does not constitute knowing how the game went, Hansen.
To watch that, you'd think Spurs should have won when in reality we gave them probably the toughest game they've had this season and for the most part played them off the park.
To finish on a positive note I'm delighted we won, great performance and some key players put a solid shift in i.e. Saha, Arteta and Heitinga (although, judging by his long farewell after the game, could it be his last?)
Keep it up boys.

can't wait to see the fucker's face when we do the double over the RS next weekend..
Top half of the table, here we come...
"We started poorly but we came back and got a goal and should have gone in 2-1 up at the break.
"At half-time I would not have taken a draw but credit to Everton, they upped the pace in the second half.
"They made lots of chances and we had chances on the break. It is not an easy place to come to."
I am actually beginning to like this guy...
No salt for me to rub into the wounds there...
He seems to be one of those managers that you want to dislike, but when you listen to his interviews he seems to talk a lot of sense and rarely appears to throw a strop in response to a bad result.
I had to smile at Gary Lineker when he stated that "it was a match between 2 teams that seemed to have the attitude ? if you score 5 we will score 6." Hopefully that will be the case for the rest of the season!!!
Gary Lineker may have played one good season for us back in the eighties but you'd never know it from the way he and his production team at MotD have treated us over the last decade.
It was absolutely no surprise to me at all that last night they chose (yet again) to ignore a good Everton performance that stuck a spanner in the works of their beloved "top four" only mentality. And if you think that MotD were bad last night you should have seen Sky Sports News, it was even worse.
We as Evertonians may (quite rightly) whinge and complain about being constantly ignored by the media and I dare say that there are many other clubs of similar stature and standing to Everton whose fans feel the same way. What this demonstrates is how the PL is perceived by those ignorant southern shandies who think they know how football should be served up to the masses. For them, the top four and the soap operas that are connected to those clubs are far more important than the rest who in their eyes are just there to make the numbers up.
Coming back to the point, Gary Lineker will never change his attitude towards us unless we actually won the PL. We're simply not fashionable enough for him. What do you expect from a man who has such a big ego and a wife who's got plastic tits. All gob and no substance I'm afraid.
One final point, wouldn't it be good if David Moyes followed the Alex Ferguson approach and refused to give them post-match interviews. After all, if they ignore us then we could always ignore them! They might get the message then.
All Sky Sports did was bleat on about how bad Chelsea and the Red Shite are playing, no credit what so ever to Blackburn and Wolves.
Keep it real.
Then match of the day go and put a 0-0 on for their main game??? If I was a Skunks fan I would be pissed off too, a 5-0 drubbing and not even in the first 4 games.
Why was the Red Shite game on second? A mid-table clash between two average sides?
Handball Hansen was gutted because he had to watch us win and his beloved RS get pumped by Blackburn.
Did you miss the fouls that weren't shown on MouD?
Did you miss that pikey prick Keane calling for time to be added the second he came on when Howard was lining up a goal kick?
Did you miss the fouls Plug from The Bash Street Kids committed and called for a card each time that weren't shown on MotD?
Did you miss the free kick in our area that the referee had waved play-on for despite his linesman giving a free kick near the end of the game?
Did you miss the played-on fouls, at least two, that weren't called back, nor ended in a singltTD?
You don't sit behind a pillar do you?
Watching MotD last night, it appeared Van der Vaart gave the defence a roasting, that Spurs looked like they might score on each attack, and that we had 3 good attempts and 2 went in!
It looks like I may have to bite the bullet and get Sky for the football first...
And it's not even just us who think it, I (unfortunately!) have quite a few freinds who are Chelsea fans who go to the games and they always say how poor the coverage is, they'll say that game looked really close but it wasn't, it's just because they missed out a whole host of important incidents from the game.
In short, MotD is shite! Great win though, we played Spurs at their own game and came out on top!!!

Let's face it, we all knew that the headlines will all be about Chelsea and RS losing, the stalemate at the Emirates and Spurs slip up against someone...
When we played City, the headlines were all "Man City blow the chance to go top" and not "Everton win to spoil Man City party" ? it was all about Man City's failings and not about the game.
For some reason, we are unfashionable, we are continually "punching above our weight" ? although really we are punching our weight as we've done it consistently for the past 6-7 years.
I was more annoyed by the ref's performance last night ? when did they change the rules to allow Peter Crouch to continually hold Johnny H down? Why wasn't Bale sent off when he kicked out at Neville - exactly like Fellaini when he got sent off a few games back? He didn't even speak to him.
That said though, maybe its a good thing the BBC didn't show old-man-Yakubu's injury time "effort".
Alan Hansen says he thought Tottenham just edged the 1st half, and to tell you the truth there wasn't much in it.
He also says, "2nd half, Everton were absolutely fantastic, and when they play like that, it makes you wonder why they are in the bottom half of the table."
He also gives credit to Coleman because he says, "Coleman absolutely decimated him tonight" ? referring to their left back.
Another thing, I couldn't give a fuck whether they made it look like Spurs were the better side, because all that matters at the end of the day is we know different, and we won.
However this argument is moot when we're as shite as we generally have been this season...
I personally think Match of the Day should show 15-20 minute highlights for each game on the day, rather than deciding days before which game is gonna get 20 mins and then showing a few 3-4 minute clips of 'the other games'.
Alan Hansen's traumatised face through the duration of the program made me laugh though. ;-)
But we're hard done to Everton, aren't we?
However while watching MOTD I noticed that Arteta didn't touch the ball once in the highlights and was going to ask if he was any good as some posts suggest he played pretty well and others didn't.
Indy got the girl and the Ark.
After a game ,if we have won, he does a solo lap of honour and a clap (he did this in his last full game and the victory over Stoke in october). It doesn't suggest he is leaving.
I always record the show ? then I decide whose on first.
We never get good coverage ? unless we were to win 9-6, we will always be low in the MotD schedule.
Look at the mountain of coverage in the papers today on the Arse match compared to what we get.
Just to complete the paranoia ? 5-Live referred to Spurs losing, as opposed to us winning.
Just enjoy the win and laugh at the kopites.
Uncle Woy will be sacked by the end of the week, get some money on it. It's nailed on.
Tony, don't forget who got King Kenny bladdered last time around. The phone-in on the radio was priceless driving back from the match.
Do they watch them all at the same time? If so, impressive.
More likely - they rely on their pre-formed ideas about teams and how they place. Everton - gritty, well-drilled defensively. Probably got battered and nicked a win, that'll do
Can't actually believe you were "bubbling with rage" over Hansen's comments. Anyone would think he'd called Everton a steaming pile of pig shit or something.
That sycophantic ego driven phoney will not turn them round.
I hope he does get the job, then the whinging fuckers who think they are the custodians of the club will get what they deserve.
A manager who is so out of touch with modern football (No not Moyes) who will drag them into the depths of despair.
Hansen actually said we where brilliant in the 2nd half and deserved to win it.
Lineker is a talentless cunt however.
We've always had this problem. In 1984/85 we didn't appear on MOTD at Goodison till about March, despite having topped the table for most of the season.
As Mathew @6 says the media just love this approach, probably because the 'bigger' teams attract bigger armchair audiences. I stumbled accross it again the week city and utd played out the dullest nil nil draw ever. Lo and behold they played it as their main game . MOTD is simply crap, and perpetuates the shitty media wider footy agenda.
Nobody on MotD said we didn't deserve to win. Nobody. From what I saw, it looked like a well balanced, competitve game and we deservedly came out on top. No wonder, no fuckin' wonder that lot call us the Bitter Blues!
We don't get all that much attention because we are not successful and generally speaking not all that entertaining to watch. Look at all the comments on here about negative football. Stop acting like children and enjoy a much needed win.
ps: Well done Seamus lad.....my favourite player you have become this season. Please don't do a "Big" Vic and start to think you have done it all. That would kill me.
Could you imagine the viewing figures if it was just the bottom 6 teams every week?
I've even heard a few beauts over the years blaming Lineker for the fact we are on last quite a bit when he's a presenter and doesn't decide the running order FFS!
I remember in '85, we were on our way to winning the league, about 6 points ahead of ManU in second place at the time. They ran a lengthy piece on United during which they were constantly referred to as the best team in the country. If my memory serves me right we had beaten them home and away that season and I think the scores were 4-0 and 5-1! We were playing away that
day and apparently Peter Reid saw the programme at the away ground and phoned ITV.
Saint and Greavesie were given the message from Peter and publicly, live on TV, apologised and put the matter right. I'm sure Greaves' precise words were something like, 'Sorry Peter. EVERTON are the best team in the country'. I think St John handed the job of offering the apology to Greaves because it would have stuck in his throat!
Who cares anyway? Liverpool got murdered (no pun) and we won, I don't care what the slimey little Spur loving Lineker thinks.
My mate Ted still rings me up on a Saturday night to give me the Everton match time run (god knows I hassled him about it for years) 3 mins 4.5 mins, 4 mins, you get the picture.
At least Sky (footy first) give us 70 odd minutes. And at least if I didn't want to pay for Sky I wouldn't be put in jail for not wanting it.
bbc, the best propagander since Pravda, if they are so good and love the common man then why haven't they ever won the rights to show live football. I mean has anyone worked out the revenue they get each year through the threat of custody.
Anyway rant over about the station that Russia always wanted.
