As an expat living down under I wonder what's happening at my beloved club. Tactics and formation have been found wanting (cheers for that, Davey), and Bullshit Billy has been doing his best role in years as a concerned chairman, but now that Peanuts has left, surely the young French lad Magaye Gueye deserves a go?
Now it may of been a few pre season friendly matches down this neck of the woods, but this lad when he was brought on showed passion and a workrate that in my opinion Bily just does not possess.
FFs surely now is the time to give the lad a chance. But come this weekend and every weekend to come it's COYB's & FTRS. Sorry about the rant from a drunken expat but this club means everything to me!

I saw the pre-season games and Gueye looked like a very useful player. He looked like a right or left forward that can cross and and score goals.
Gueye would perfectly fit a 4-3-3 formation that I believe we should be playing, similar to Barcelona or Mourinho's first couple of seasons at Chelsea.
I'm really surprised he hasn't been given a chance after his pre-season, but hopefully will get some games soon.

I saw the preseason friendly at Norwich and Magaye Gueye was non-existant in that game.
Moyes is not a fool. If a young player is good enough (Rodwell/Coleman) then they get games.

I think ideally if Gueye comes good we should be looking a 4-3-3. Baines, Jagielka/Heitinga, Distin and Coleman across the back four. In midfield Rodwell and Fellaini with Arteta in-front. Then upfront Gueye and Anichebe on the wings and Beckford in the middle.

Vaughan might get the chance on the left again now. Apparently he's not allowed to be transferred because he played 16 minutes against the shite so that means he's played for 2 clubs already this season.
On his twitter account, Vaughan says he's gutted. What another monumental fuck up by Everton. By playing him for 16 minutes, we miss out on a transfer fee this January and he'll leave for free at the end of the season. We really are run like a non-league outfit.

If he is not good enough why did Moyes get him and why does he rate a spot on the bench?

Dick, Coleman got games through default. Long after everyone who watched Everton knew he should play right midfield. Sorry, everyone bar the coach. Rodwell? Good prospect,left on the bench, played out of position.
Gueye could be brilliant but he won't get in the ream till every one of Davy's favourites is injured. The notion that he promotes youth is utterly absurd. He'd have had the 17 year old Pele warming the bench for five years.

As for saying Gueye is not good enough... he runs circles around Osman, which admittedly isn't that hard to do. And to be honest also runs rings around that other useless clown Bily who needs to be sold right now... even if only for £5 or 6 million. At least we can get a couple of half decent players in rather than him in the squad. Bily is not remotely good enough for the Prem.
I saw Gueye at Brentford away. I have only seen him once so I don't want to be too critical but he was shite that night in what was a bad all round performance. I hope he gets a chance and eventually comes good, but I suspect he was brought in as cover and nothing more.
Agree with your last sentence and that we have to flog Bily right now, James Hollister (11). But getting £5 or 6 million for him? Dream on. Aside from Krøldrup, the worst signing we've had under David Moyes.

13 and 11. God just when Bily is starting to look a little better with the time hes spent on the pitch you are slating him again? For what reason is this based on? The lads been patient and I am all for giving him an extended run till Cahill is back. Then maybe if hes still showing nothing I will agree with you.
Does anyone have information on the the position regarding Bily and a work permit? I thought he had to play in a certain number of games in order to retain a work permit but look forward to being corrected.

Bily surely had to be given a decent run. He is perfectly capable of playing...........football would you believe. Skilful, able to pass the ball and a stonking left foot. We paid enough for him let's at least give the guy a sporting chance. Since we can't loan out Vaughan why not give him some game time also ?
Gueye was brought in from 2nd tier french football...do you really think he will be our saviour ...get real. In all the games he's played I've seen nothing to suggest he is anything more than an occassional squad player...honestly the pressure and expectation some people put on young untried kids is unreal...Gueye is nowehere near being a 1st team regular...he reminds me of the other young french lad we had...Plessissess or what ever his name is...few appearences on the bench early doors....1 appearance on the pitch and then faded into obscurity to be released 12 months later...I suggest Gueye will be the same

3 Struggles to make decent passes.
4. Not a winger.
How can you say has been improving? I have seen nothing to suggest he has at all.
Now if we take into contention that Bily (4) is not a winger, but a central midfield player, it may explain why he is so inept on the wing. and why the lad has the strongest shot on him at the club.
However if he is a winger, then he is very very poor at his trade. The main reason he isn't good enough, is his ball distribution, his passing and his inability to run quickly.
Today (Jan 22) goal against West Ham, does not negate the fact he isn't good enough. A blind man could have walked in that Everton side today and scored...against a very poor West Ham defense.
So if he is gonna stay at the blues and be integral to the team, he needs to be shoved in the middle of the park not on the wing...if Moyse keeps playing him out of position , particularly one that demands pace and accuracy of passing...then yes he isn't good enough and should be sold right now.
