Gosling the Goose

Just thought I would point out what a great season Dan Gosling is having. He has managed 1 minute of football in which his new team conceded.

It bugged me how he left, though we have managed to benefit from not paying his medical bills this season, but I'm sure the saving won't cover the possible transfer fee we should have received.

He was making progress at Everton who have a small squad and so provide opportunities of playing time and he quits for what can only be the pound sign.

Seamus Coleman has shown what can happen when given the opportunity, due to his dedication and professionalism he has become a 1st team regular and a fans favourite, a mantle Dan had gained after scoring against Liverpool...

What was he thinking?

Playing the devil's advocate here but shouldn't the club rather than Dan be responsible for the whole fuck up.

Did the club have the opportunity to sign him earlier than to let it get to this point? I would say yes.

When an Evertonian builds a time machine can they go back and get this sorted by getting a contract written up earlier and while they're at it, can they steal the pen and contract that was used to re sign Anichebe.

Those comments from his agent about him "crying his eyes out" when he wasn't offered a deal really irked me. I'm sure he was crying after he just screwed over the club who give him a shot in the big time, nursed him through a bad injury, and then bagged a 'double your money' deal at Newcastle. Fuck the little prick. I'm hoping Fellaini is in one of his elbowing moods next Saturday if Gosling is playing.

Would Coleman have been given the chane if Gosling were still here? I doubt it.

A blessing in disguise if you ask me, and maybe Moyes wanted rid anyway.

Sorry but Gosling was shite anyway... thanks for the derby goal, Dan, but good riddance to your 'running in quick sand' impressions. To be fair, he did a good Gary Naysmith impression!

He was actually a very poor footballer who did however have the magically quality of being able to score crucial goals.

For that alone he was worth a squad place.

The club ballsed his contract up but equally surely there is a moral issue that a club that pay you very handsomely want you to stay that you don't pull the 'small print' trick. Surely there should be some sort of professional pride/loyalty.

Despite all of that, it is nice to see that he isn't doing well at the barcodes!!

To be fair Steven, it's probably 50/50.

The club screwed up but Dan could have easily signed a new contract the next day....but what did he do? went to court and got himself a great signing on deal.

Gosling would have been another person potentially standing in the way of Seamus and his development which is crucial. I liked him because he had an eye for goal but Seamus has proved likewise lately and is a machine down the wing. His running in the 90th minute when we beat Spurs will be one of the enduring memories of this season for me.

Gosling can be a good player. Coleman is already a good player and can be a great player.

Coleman will I'm sure be our full back when we eventually come up with a quality right-sided player.

Gosling? Eye for goal, potentially one of those impact players after his goals against Liverpool and Man Utd, but he's gone and we move on.

Great point about Coleman, Brett, hadn't thought of that.

Gosling never looked like a winger, I think Moyes played him there to get him used to the Prem.

I think he could be a decent tidy centre midfield. A bit of an Osman in the middle so would be a squad player.

But to compare him to someone? Errrr.... Steve Sidwell?

Its funny, when he was here, he was classed as another great, young Moyes signing, now he's gone, he's shite.
