Season 2011-12
The Mail Bag

Lying Partners

I was flicking through the booklet that I received with my season ticket and saw the usual: David Moyes not taking us for granted, Elstone had copied and pasted one of his 'We're moving forward' speeches etc, but then, I saw something a little more unusual...

In with all the usual ads and offers I actually saw what appeared to be a good deal! I'm talking about the 188Bet free shirt offer. Open an account, place a £40 bet and get a free home shirt! Awesome, I thought.

It had a little + next to it which I read that the offer ended 30 September 2011 ? get in! I quickly went to the website to be met with a big 'PROMOTION NOW CLOSED'.

Now either I have travelled in time, or even our club partners now think they can spin us any old crap and we will likely swallow it. I'm scared I will get laughed at if I pull my season card out at the Noble House now!

Hey Dan I hope you don't mind me piggy backing onto your post but my little query is not worth an entire column of its own.
Can someone tell this old fogie what a 2Y reserve team is?

I'm presuming that it was a reference to the reserve team containing Y(akubu) and Y(obo), Dick.

Dick, I think it's a reference to Yobo and Yakubu.

Dan, it's a possibility that when the booklet went to print, the closing date was 30 Sep but the goalposts then shifted (for whatever reason) and the closing date was changed. I don't know if that's the case, I am just speculating.

Noel.
If it's in print they have to honour the agreement.

The Blue Union report is in ? there is no doubt anymore... Kenwright is a delusional maniac, truly shocking.

Trevor #6 i have just read that report and i think your description of kenwright is very mild to say the least. a chairman who says that he does not know what other operating costs are when asked what they where. Shamefull. i fear for the future of the team i have loved for 55yrs. we are in a right mess

Perhaps there's some very, very small print somewhere Dan that says *while stocks last?

Dan, as per #5, pursue it. They've put it in writing so they should honour the promotion. Even if the promotion has closed (which it hasnt'), F** it, according to your booklet it isn't!!

Escalate to customer services' manager, to their manager to their manager. Why not - go as high as you can go, and if you get as far as Kenwright, give him a serve nd ask him - what's f**king doing?!?!

There will be small print to say that bet188 reserves the right to change the details of the promotion as they see fit. Pretty much tough if you don't like it, BK won't have anything to do with it as it will be an external companies promo.

I checked the booklet and the only term and condition was the 30th september end date. However, when I typed the offer in google, the 188bet website T&C's state that the offer was between the 1st and 31st of July! I only recieved my season ticket pack 2 days ago so would never have got the chance to take the offer up. Not sure where the mistake lies, whether it was the publisher of the booklet, or the betting company.

I think he must have been toking on a doobie before that interview, the man made absolutely no sense whatsoever. .........Embarrassing.
