Samba anyone?

 22 Comments: First  |  Last

Given that Jags is gone for a while and Duffy is not deemed ready to start why does Moyes not consider Samba who has been consistently excellent for Blackburn all season despite palying with crap all around him?

Maybe we can offer Heitinga and Neville in part-ex?

If not then why not consider Junior Hoilett?

Dear God we need something more than we have.

Tom.
The answer to your question is Moyes is not considering anyone let alone Samba due to the simple fact we have not a pot to piss in. If hes not available on loan then we aren't in for him.

Even if we could scrape the money together we're not an attractive club at the moment. The likes of Hoilett who is an up and coming player and Samba will be looking at other clubs. As things stand all we could hope for are has beens, never will be's, unheard of foreign players and schoolkids.

Sort of defeating the object getting rid of Heitinga if the subject of your post is that we are short of numbers at the back, however I would give them Neville for free! It's someone who can score or create is what we really need, and with the Arteta/Beckford/Vaughan/Ruddy/Yakubu/Pienaar and Bellefield money vanishing (despite not having to appease the banks apparently), I can't really see anyone of any note coming in.

Here's some transfer equations that it doesn't take Einstein to work out:

An in-form, highly desirable player + many interested clubs = high transfer fee & wages

Everton + Kenwright + Moyes = no money & not attractive proposition

Neville + Heitinga = couldn't buy us Rory Delap

I think our finances are so dire that if anyone were to be sold the money wouldn't be re-invested. I think the best we can hope for is that we just hang onto what we have for as long as possible (minus Kenwright and Moyes).

I agree fully, exept Neville can leave.
Saha will not be given a new contract, so we will be relying on getting in freebies in the summer.

The only Samba we will end up with will be Moyes Adidas Samba he will be wearing on the touchline in the championship next season.

We dont have a pot to piss in.

The very sad an realistic scenario is that we could be in Administration by the Summer.
Gates will continue to decline.
With the continued Dire Football being served up and Billy Liars continued mis- truths can anyone envisage the Early Bird Season Ticket offer being taken up by the Fans.
I would think that Season Ticket sales for Next season will be at an all time Low.
This in itself will put even more pressure on our Uselss Board. (The Season Ticket Revenue has already Been Securitised along with the TV Money)
They have nothing left to sell except players. The Chicken is surely coming home to roost.
This reminds me of that comedy film where the boat runs out of fuel mid ocean and they burn it to keep on sailing.
Come on Doddy Lets hear the possitive!!
I know you said you would wait till after the Deadline but Moyes has announced that contrary to your belief, Bill was only joking when he told everyone in September that Arteta's Transfer Fee was "RINGFENCED"
for Moyes to spend in January

Guys - don't really think a thread on who we're signing in January is going places today do you?

Like a bad joke at a funeral!

Why has Moyes not considered Messi? He's just won the Ballon d'Or for the third time and could really improve our attack.

We could offer Anichebe and Saha in part exchange.

If not then consider Iniesta, we need someone new.

I'd say no to samba. Gary Cahill on the other hand is apparently available for £7 million, and won't go to chelsea as he wants regular first team football.

Pity we have no money, as we could have the future england centre back pairing fairly easily and they'd play well together.

But let's be honest, centre back is not a weak area for us - we have distin, jags and heitinga, 3 players all of similar level who can play that position. Then we have rodwell who can also play there in an emergency. So although jags is out for a bit, I wouldn't panic buy.

But we are desperately short of a backup left back, if baines gets injured then we are majorly screwed.

I know we'd all like a striker who can score, but we do have 4 strikers at the moment in the first team squad (5 if you count landon).

Post 576 is spot on.

I'm certain that players, such as, Jagielka, Fellaini, Baines, Rodwell will be sold in the next 18 months. They will not be replaced by equivalents.

I'm certain Moyes will leave in the next 12 months, probably to Tottenham.

I'm certain we will be relegated within 3 years.

Everton now are becoming increasingly dependent on last gasp loan players that are expected to magically gel so that we can avoid relegation each season. You cannot survive like that.

It's been an admirable fight for survival over the last 20 years by a truly great football club but we are now having to witness our inevitable Premier League death.

Gary, can't see Spurs wanting Moyes.
I can just see it now, Moyes telling Bale to stop doing those marauding runs down the flank, and just concentrate on his defensive duties.

What a silly post.. I'll assume you are 5 years old and forgive you your naivety..

Other clubs want Samba and we are broke.

Other clubs want Hoilett and we are broke.

We are broke,

If you find a centre half in a basket near the tills at HMV, post it on here because that's where Moyesy's shopping..

Funny how he loved us when his brother was kidnapped? I hate having to go to work.. but I still bloody do it.

Moyes needs to stop the. mad grudges... and actually manage these guys. He might think he can go all big time Sir Alex and give them a bollocking.. but that only works when you have the respect. You get respect by winning things. Need I go on?

What can Moyes coach Neville / Saha? I would go further, and say what can Chris Woods coach Tim Howard? More international caps etc... I can kick a ball at him and make him save it !

Steve Round ... I give up.

Samba won't come to Everton because:

we can't afford to buy him
we can't afford more wages
he wants to go to a club with prospects
we can't afford to buy him
he is half-decent
we can't afford to buy him

We'll just have to make-do with shite players coming in on a free or loan until the Prince of Qatar weighs-in.
