Season 2011-12

What would you prefer?

A simple question. Given two choices what would you prefer tonight? A gung ho attacking Everton performance resulting in a heavy defeat or a cautious 1-0 loss?

Tonight, against all my ideals I'll take the narrow defeat. Our situation is, in my view, too perilous to take a hammering. Unlike many others I believe we are not safe from relegation. We simply can't stand a catastrophic blow to morale. Right now I will happily see Moyes grind out 42 points and then take it from there.

For me the Bolton game was a watershed. We are a poor side with a thin squad and I am sad to say it but I'll take anything that we can get. My views on Moyes have been stated a million times but it;s time to be pragmatic. Sneak us something tonight and I'll take dour.

Yeah, understandable, yet he goes and plays the most attacking side he's put out for ages and they had a go, even though we had no shots on target at least we had 13 off target. Neville injected some much needed guts into our game and if Hibbert gets the RB spot back then it proves he's got something on Moyes worthy of blackmail.

Who knows where we'd be if he'd played this kind of attacking formation at home to QPR etc? The man is a buffoon but I can't slag the intent tonight and it seems strange that I'm applauding a 2-0 defeat at Spurs and slagging off wins at WBA and Blackburn.

Well Andy I take it you didnt spend any well earned money watching that crap last night. What is the point of any Everton fan travelling all the way to London if the attitude is to only lose 1-0? Wouldnt it have been better for us to really have and go and to hell with the result. Who knows if we had lost 4-2 at least there would have been some entertainment, something to have been worth spending money on. And maybe it would have lifted morale a bit.

Andy, you say 'a simple question' then ask a completely weighted question.

A simple (nb: and fair!) question would be:

"Given no result can be guaranteed either way, would you prefer a gung-ho attacking performance or a typical defensive 'Moyes-type' performance?"

I choose the former.
