Takeover and Kenwright

 16 Comments: First  |  Last

Until today I've alway's been pro-Kenwright and now it hurts me to admit that he may not have the best interest of Everton at heart. (I say "may" as I hope and pray to be proved wrong).

When Arteta was sold I thought it was good business and with Bill and Dave saying they let him go because he wanted to go enhanced my view on this. However, today the reports that came out with the manager saying everyone knew the banks wanted the money made my blood boil. Mr Kenwright, only six weeks ago, said the Arteta money would be available come January. Now even Dave says he was sold for the bank balance.

In the words of a film agent: SHOW ME THE MONEY!

My question, could whoever the club is sold to be any worse than now? For me my opinion has changed over the ownership and anything would be better than this. I hope this is read by the club and will be overjoyed to be proved wrong.

Good to see you have seen the light Chris. We just need the thousands of other fans to pull their heads out the sand now.

Kenwright could be the best fan in the world and the best guy you could ever meet. I don't care...I just want someone to run our club with either lots of money or a business plan.

Why is it this specific lie that's tipped you? We've been lied to so many times now by Kenwright. I thought the man was a complete tool when he invented the FSF.

In part of the BU - BK meeting, Bill says something along the lines of... "I begged the Banks not to kill us yet."

I for one am sick of the Leeds in slow motion, embarrassing laughing stock, train wreck we are becoming (have become?).

We know there are redshites everywhere, there must be some in the higher echelons of the banking world, who would jump at doing us that sort of 'favour'.

Pull the rug out from under Bill and let the cards fall where they will... anything's got to be better than this lingering and hoping it will change for the better.

I have been a die hard Everton fan for all my life (23 years) and it saddens me to see the problems with Kenwrong but what saddens me more is the problems with tactics!

So far this season, Louis Saha has scored one, Tim Cahill hasn't scored, Bily hasn't scored and they are meant to be attacking players. When they don't produce goals for the team, they are a waste of space.

Cahill cant pass to save his life and he now isn't even winning headers. I have always said to give Billy time but enough is enough, he just isn't good enough for the Premier League, never mind Everton. And Saha doesn't look like he could hit a barn with the ball not to mention a goal.

We have these players on the pitch while Vellios (who has scored more than them all), Gueye and Drenthe on the bench today. Play Vellios up front, Donovan behind him, Gueye on the left and Drenthe on the right if Moyes must play a 4-5-1.

Time for a complete overhaul of the Club, starting with the Chairman, then the manager, then the players who aren't pulling their weight.

@ Derek "Leeds in slow motion" that's brilliant, really sums up how we can't even go bankrupt properly!

I think of Everton now as a bit like Woolworths. Once a great institution but for years everyone could see they were dying, terribly mismanaged with only pick and mix keeping them going. The saddest thing is that nobody stepped in to save them.

Now Everton, once a great institution but we've known for years that we were dying. Our pick and mix squad gradually being stolen so all we have is the shrimps and gobstoppers left.

And nobody stepping in to save us.

Chris,
Why has it taken you so long to see through that phoney prick? Did you really believe all those lies he came out with?

Stuart , I cried as I laughed when I read your woolies metaphor . For the first time yesterday I was thinking I'm not giving that pantomine dame my 500 quid this summer , not because I have supported him through all this , far from it as I was on the BU marches with passion but because yesterdays comments from moyes was the final straw , the last lie in a succession of lies that sealed the deal and it breaks my heart

Chris I'm with you on this one. Was just about ready to give Kenwright the benefit of the doubt before, but this time it's just too blatant a lie.

Stuart- love the metaphor! Just the penny sweets left now in the shop..

Chris, my question is the same as Alan's (827) - what was it about THIS lie?

The man has been caught bullshitting SO many times.

Not 'he MAY have been lying' - caught, 100%, bang-to-rights lies.

Why on earth are people getting worked up when a PROVEN liar is caught telling YET ANOTHER lie?

You're not surprised when a potter makes a pot are you?

Seriously, this reaction makes no sense.

Also confusing, Jamie (951) tells us he was 'just about to give Kenwright the benefit of the doubt'

WHAT doubt?

There was/is NO doubt.

He is a proven serial bullshitter who has been caught bullshitting over and over again.

I'm genuinely confused as to which bit of this you weren't sure about.

Eugene, I'm normally with you 100%, but I think you need to give some blues a break for changing their minds only now. There's a few reasons for this, it might be the straw that broke the camels back, it could be that it simply goes against the grain to be actively against a fellow blue, the anti Kenwright movement can also be very aggressive which can make people defensive and tentative to switch sides, it can be difficult to swap sides because in essence you are admitting to having made a mistake, some blues on here are a longer than you and I therefore they don't remember the other events we do nor indeed really understand them.

Instead of having a go a blues that have had the inner courage to change their opinions on Kenwright and Moyes, we should be making it easier for them by welcoming them with open arms and not castigating them.

We need to start pulling together, The Great Disruption is upon us, if you haven't already read the book then get it, it's fantastic.

The obvious alternative to giving the bank the cash would have been for us to spend it on players....

However surely it's better placed keeping the club afloat during these tough financial times. Surely that has to be the clubs priority.

I can't imagine that the Board / Executive Committee are fuckin' everything up just because they fuckin' can.......!!!!!!!!

How do we know that the 'new' owner wouldn't be a dodgy twat, like that Thai fella was.

'I can't imagine that the Board / Executive Committee are fuckin' everything up just because they fuckin' can.'

It's difficult to prove otherwise when you consider the evidence. Or is it because they are a complete bunch of bafoons who have hocked the silverware to keep their properties on the monopoly board waiting for the day when someone will offer a way out with a profit. Not going to happen! There's only one outcome in all this, sad to say.

Bill Kenwright is the sort that likes attention. The guy does theatre.

Everton Football Club is the only thing that gets his name in the national newspapers. Other than that he is a nobody.

The chairman of Everton is what defines him. That's why he will never sell.
