Easy Money

 22 Comments: First  |  Last

I dont know how many of you like a bet but I suspect a good number. Since the start of the season I have laid every Everton game, including the cup-ties, for Any Unquoted Correct Score ? which means that one side has to score at least 4 goals. The odds have ranged from 2.6 (Tamworth) to 16. I based these bets on the fact that Moyes did not sign a striker of any note in the summer and bases his game plan on not conceding. It also does not mean betting against my own team which I will never do. However, the reality is we are clueless in front of goal and everyone knows that. To be honest, I have never made easier money as there have been 34 games and not one has been a worry. So my profit has been 34 points so far.

I have also backed every game for under 2.5 goals and so far this has produced the goods in 24 games with only 10 going over 2.5 giving a profit of 11.2 points. I don't say this with any pride because I would love to see a match where we score 4 or 5 goals. However, we have now scored 13 goals in the last 17 league games so it doesn't look as if my profits are going to be troubled anytime soon.

Only Wigan have scored less while the clubs with no money still seem to be able to hit the target.

So my season ticket for next year is already paid for... The dilemma for me now is do I want to spend this cash on another season of watching this utter negative dross. But then I have to keep telling myself how truly lucky we are to have Moyes as our manager.

Thanks for the tip. Perhaps the only positive thing left with having Moyes.

The attendances wil stilll go down next season if Moyes is still here.
People are tired of watching this shit.

like you Mick, I have had a bet every week on under 2.5 goals and it will be paying for my holidays this year and next, it's like buying money.

Moyes IS a genius.

Mick, unlike any other chairman in the Premier league, ours has the ultimate faith in what the manager is doing.
So there is No chance of anything changing, unless another club comes a calling, for Mr Moyes?.

Mick, can you explain the first bet you mention? I don't quite follow but I do like the idea of winning easy money.

Did anybody pick up Bullshit Bill`s comment during the `10 Years Love in` last week that every club has a man at the absolute top and at Everton it wasn`t him but David Moyes!
Talk about shifting the blame. But they BOTH deserve it-they are joined at the hip!

How many of us would back Everton to beat Liverpool at Wembley if they managed to get through at Sunderland? To the gamblers above, what is your prediction for the cup game next Wednesday? I say 1-1 extra time then out on pens... The football Gods just love being cruel to Everton.

Mick,

Do you do this on Betfair or is it just regular punting?

The under 2.5 I do on Bet365 - the Any Unquoted Score is on Betfair under correct score - just scroll down to the bottom and it is there. I must confess it does involve a reasonably high theoretical liability if the odds are in double figures. But you know we have no chance of scoring 4 and it is unlikely we will concede that many. I mean saturday at Swansea looks set for low scores.

Isn't it unlikely we'll get an unquoted score since there are never any goals in our matches? Am I missing something? Apologies for denseness!

Tony

I don't mean to tempt fate but as a betting man i would wager on Everton not losing if we played Liverpool not in 90 minutes anyway.

It is the 3 game rule where no team beats another 3 times so as they have won 2 matches this season Everton would either draw or win.

There have been exceptions but it mostly rings true as an experiment if you look at the Arsenal game this weekend they have beaten Aston Villa twice already this season so it will be either a draw or a Villa win.

Maybe the unaccounted costs on Everton's accounts are down to Bill putting £50k on each of our games at under 2.5 goals...

By my reckoning, Everton have scored 60 goals in their last 50 Prem matches and conceded 56.

I`ve been betting on them to win 1-0 at home and lose 0-1 away and have made a few bob on that basis. But hardly the way to make a fortune!

John,

If he did that we'd have Messi up front with Ronaldo off him. Or Cahill if he was fit.

Excellent post, Mick. You've got a great little system going there, and the way things are going on the pitch, no chance of it stopping anytime soon.

You should email the details thru' to 'Bollocks Bob' Elstone, so he can double our £500 transfer kitty before the summer!

Phil! If your figures are right, it's taken them 50 games to do what Dixie did ON HIS OWN in a 42-match season.

My old man's right ? the game HAS changed!

Your only danger to this bet every week is the other side scoring 4, I presume you do this on Betfair.

I like a punt, but with betting being slightly different (read: so highly regulated that it isn't fun anymore) in Australia, I can't for the life of me figure out what the first bet means about unquoted scores. Here it means a score that isn't listed as it seems unlikely, which would seem like a fool's bet, with 3-1 being our most obscure scoreline all year.
