Keeping an eye on the Rangers bidders
18 Comments: First | Last
I have been watching and reading about the Rangers situation in Scotland. Now, apparently they have got a few bidders fighting it out for the rights to buy the club and I just wondered if we couldn't send someone official up there to have a quiet word with them all to say "If you don't manage to buy Rangers, how about giving Everton a look over instead?".
Surely it couldn't hurt to try and offer them an alternative?

Rangers 4, Everton 1. That's the score of identified bidders over the last month or so. Whilst all those interested in the Scottish club seem happy to to be named, don`t you think it`s slightly suspicious that only some Indian metal bashers have been rumoured to have shown any interested in Everton?
Why do the other EIGHT companies wish to be so secretive about their negotiations with our revered leader?
Could it possibly be because they are a mere figment of the great man`s ever more outrageous imagination? Surely not!
Season ticket renewal time...
Or the annual "we have buyers interested in the club."
Whichever, it is Bullshit Billy time.
Why bother when it's not for sale?
Yeah sounds good, Paul. Let us all know how you get on!
As Matt said, Everton is not for sale. Why is that simple concept hard to grasp?
Everton have not yet dropped as deep in the doo-doo as Rangers, the once great but now laughing stock of Scotland. The whole sorry affair is now under close scrutiny of the SFA, the police, the media, a gaggle of legal firms, thousands of fans and other interested parties. Anything that moves in the vicinity of Ibrox will be jumped on by all the above and dragged into the light of day.
There is no way in the world that backroom deals, shady or otherwise, could happen. Even with Rangers in such a sad and awful predicament and faced with an 'old firm' clash, there is no way it would ever show contempt for their own fans in the way Moyes did to us. Pride in the club's history simply would not allow it. Dosen't say much for the apologista eh?
Phil, The Indian metal bashers you mention didn't exactly ask to be identified either. The information was leaked on a Daisy Cutter article. Otherwise we probably wouldn't've known about them either. I'm no fan of Billy Bullshit, but at least get your conspiracy theories right.
The two clubs are not comparable at all. A truly ridiculous article. Did you point out that Rangers got sold last time and we didn't? Every time a club gets sold someone comes on here and whinges that it wasn't us. A few months or a year or so later and its clear that selling to those buyers would have been a massively shit idea. Why do we still keep getting these pointless posts?
I imagine Rangers could be bought for very little money.
Stupid thread, thinking EFC should go looking to woo the under bidders.
Of course we are for sale. The reason we have not been bought is because we are unattractive to buyers. Sure, we have a proud history and a decent fanbase but we don't make any money. No one who bought us could guarantee that they could ever make a profit with their investment.
Rangers have managed to attract positive bidders in just weeks despite being in administration. Meanwhile, Billy Liar can't even produce one believable bidder despite trying for YEARS. So what does that tell you about Billy Liar?
As stated, we are not an attractive proposition at the moment. As well as the hgh asking price, potential buyers have to figure into their bids extra money to service the debt/loans, money to rebuild the team team, money to rebuild Goodison or re-locate and the fact we have sold everything off we own already, they would have to look at a whole new business model. (Not such a bad thing!)
The difference with Rangers is they have a huge fan base (I know ours is too but they win the League every year or two so are seen as successful, despite only having to compete with Celtic), and they don't have the cost of having to fork out for a new stadium.
Had to chuckle at the news this morning that one of the `alleged` bidders for Rangers was a`swingers dating agency`who wanted to paint Ibrox pink! Apparently it was a hoax which the Current Bun fell for hook, line and sinker!
With `Grab a Granny`so high profile on Toffeeweb these days, perhaps Michael could persuade his sponsors to get in touch with BK. After all, didn`t Everton play in pink last season?
Domino, there is an old phrase which goes something like "a stupid idea is better than no idea at all".
I am putting ideas out there in a bid to maybe help our club prosper and also create a bit of fun banter.
It seems you are just another clueless fool who has nothing better to do than pick holes in other people's views to boost your own poor self esteem. If the thread is so stupid, don't comment on it, click off it and read something else. That would be too easy though wouldn't it?
Mike, if it is such a pointless post, why click on it? You too are another who has nothing better to do than pick holes in posts. Why don't you put a post up and I'll take great pleasure in picking it to bits too! Jog on
Paul, I clicked on it because I didn't know it was pointless before I'd read it. I have a few gifts, divine foreknowledge is not one of them.
I have started posts in the past, but haven't felt the need for a long time; most of what's on my mind gets discussed anyway.
Club not for sale? Proof please
Rangers are looking for someone to take over their debts while Everton are looking for oil money
or did I misunderstood something?
