From My House
89 Comments: Having had numerous texts and calls telling me Toffeeweb was looking for me. I logged on and looked and saw.
I can tell you I am ok and have been really touched by comments left on Lyndon's piece.
I have been in hospital to have some bone replaced with metal and am now recuperating at home. I will miss the semi but I am in strict training to be able to go to the final. Of course we will get there. I am also trying to take up my seat for at least one or maybe two league games.
Once I master climbing the stairs there will no holding me.
Once again many thanks for your concern.

Ken - welcome back, good to hear that you are on the mend, was beginning to think maybe I should step in from behind my couch again. :)
When I read your piece about metal replacing bone, my immediate thoughts were, "if it was good enough for our Dixie, then it's certainly good enough for our Ken - from his seat!"

Sorry to hear you haven't been well, Ken. I had been wondering what had happened to you. Hope you are now on the mend. As a blue that isn't able to get to as many games as I'd like, your posts are a God-send. They are always my first port of call and I would be (have been) lost without them. I hope you realise how much your brilliant and incisive reviews and views are appreciated. I've often thought they deserve a wider audience. Much better than the inane drivel the professional media offer. A true blue hero. Well done and keep it up! Good news Ken, I think a few were sweating.
By the way, my granddad had his spine shot away in Normandy and replaced with a mercury compound and he lived until he was 93.
Only problem was in the summer he was 7 foot 6 and in the winter he was 3 foot 4.

Just for a bit of controversy though, from what I read it is a leg injury you are carrying (ref: getting up the stairs) so how about a "From my house" for the semi? No doubt it will be more balanced than the tales I tell when I get back.

Ken, will you see the match live on telly, or will you have to suffer the Internet like most of us each week. Luckily it is on Fox Soccer Channel live here in Houston, but at 06:30. Having thought about it, hope the missus doesn't expect me to do anything as I could well be excessively "Stella Artois'd" by 08 dubs!

Glad to hear you are on the mend. Really miss your match reports. Appointment reading, as the saying goes. When you're on the other side of the world, it is nice to read what someone who is there thinks and get a bit of a feel for the atmosphere around the ground.

Get well soon, I too have had bone replaced by metal and it's a pain in the arse.
