Let's imagine for a minute the whole Everton squad was English.

Who is good enough to be picked for the current England squad announced today for the Euros?

There are only two world class players in the current set-up for me ? Hart and Rooney ? so I reckon a few of our stars would get the call.

Jelavic, Heitinga, Fellaini, Pienaar (if he counts) and Baines for sure.

And Howard might be the reserve keeper.

I love the cooment on the BBC website by a blue:

"Tim Howard had more goals and assists than Downing last season."

Take our squad including Pienaar. Take away an Osman, add a Rooney, minus a Coleman, plus the right midfielder from Arsenal who's name I can't remember due to Jack Daniels and you are in business.

The lot of them. Then, I might watch England without wanting them to lose (and I'm bloody English),

Anichebe is bad enough for Endland, it's our good luck he chose Nigeria. If Croatia and Jelly have a good, Bill maybe sorely tempted.

Hart is overrated in my opinion. As is Ruddy, yes he makes a lot of saves, but he is still gaffe prone and dodgy on crosses and in a packed area

What ever we think of the squad, who should or should not go.
My feelings are that it will all end in failure, and that's not unusual.
Besides certain players, getting the nod over others, there is one or two who should not be there, in my opinion.
I don't know about Rio Ferdinand, not being able to play two games, in four days, the captain has not done that all season??

Downing has one assist: he got Kenny fired.

Fellaini, Pienaar, Heitinga, Baines, Jelavic, and Distin. How the hell Gerrard is going as captain and Lampard, Downing and Caroll at all?!!!!

I don't usually watch England because, being a Blue and usually having my expectations floored in Cup competitions, I feel it would be too much in the close season; I'm definitely not watching it now!!!

Fellaini, Jelovic, Pienaar, Heitinga, Baines and Jagielka!
Cant believe Jags isnt in the squad and I'm equally astounded that people on here are avocating his sale! He is class when fully fit and some people on here have very short memories!
I like Distin but Jags learned from that mistake the other year v Villa and wouldnt have made the mistake that Distin did at wembley!

Mark #761 - Jags wouldn't have made that mistake? On any other occasion Distin neither. You can't crucify him for one error that anyone can make, including Jags.

Yes surprised that there are others in the England squad ahead of Jags, but I think you're barking in your comparison of magnitude of howler, it has no relevance to the matter and is something that just cannot be compared.
